Please spend time looking over and reading book reviews of some books on GoodReads. When you find a review of a book that sounds interesting, cut the review and paste it in your response to this week's discussion thread.

Then tell us what about the review made the book sound interesting and attractive to you. Remember to include the name of the book the author in your "comment to a comment."

Shianne Perez | 15 comments Book : Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

"I've often said that nobody should write for teens who doesn't remember what it was like to be one. Rainbow Rowell remembers, and has captured it beautifully in this book."

^ This review made my book sound a lot more interesting because she is right a adult is playing with fire writing a teen love book because it takes a teen to know a teen honestly so when I finished reading this book this comment actually meant a lot more to me from when I last saw it when the book was unread .

Drew | 16 comments Book: The Fellowship of the Ring By J.R.R Tolkien

"You must first get through the hard layers before you can find a single diamond."

This quote in a review caught my eye because in the book starts out explaining the ring in the intro and then mellows out for some of the book. Later there is more action and drama. The book is sorta boring in the beginning and slowly gets better as you read through it.

Eric Rodriguez | 20 comments Book:Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone By J.K.Rowling.

"With the wildly popular Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling has solved that dilemma by proving once and for all that kids really can love great books. Twists and turns make this story resemble a junior Grisham thriller in which loose ends are expertly tied and more threads become compellingly unraveled."

This quote of a review persuays me that this book is a very engaging and fun book to read. Its magical and thriller like taste is very attractive to a reader like me. That is the quote of a review and how it make s me think about the book.

Sojourner | 23 comments As soon as I finished this book, I wanted to kick myself for not reading it sooner. Prodigy is brilliant. It managed to exceed my expectations and I absolutely loved how Marie Lu solved the mysteries and questions arising through both Legend and Prodigy, in a way that makes perfect sense.

This book review sound interesting and attractive to me because it shows me that this person really enjoyed it.

Samantha | 15 comments Today i actually read Advanced material for Patricks class. and I found a couple of things interesting and one of the things was a quote by a guy named pascal who said, " when the universe has crushed him man will still be nobler than that which kills him, because he knows that he is dying, and of its victory the universe knows nothing." The Lessons of History I found that this quote makes me think about how prepared i am when i think of death and how even when a person dies, they don't accept it n=but it happens anyway.

Kea Adams-edwards | 9 comments Book: Pretty Little Liars by Sara Sheapard

This comment made my book more interesting because it opened my eyes to how much suspense is really in this book and i can 100% completely relate to this comment and agree with it.

"Pretty Little Liars has been my favorite book I have read so far. It is filled with drama, suspense and mystery, but it also brings together friendship and bravery. Four best friends, Aria, Hanna, Emily and Spencer, are separated by the death of their friend Alison DeLaurentis, as she has mysteriously disappeared. They each shared secrets with Alison and one very important one that nobody could find out: the Jenna secret. All four friends soon drifted apart, but were brought back together when they start receiving mysterious text messages from A. Could A. be Alison? Were all of their secrets about to become secret no more? They must work together to find out who it is soon, because all the information Alison kept confidential is no longer safe."

Jake Dropkin | 14 comments Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
'His hand closed automatically around the fake Horcrux, but in spite of everything, in spite of the dark and twisting path he saw stretching ahead for himself, in spite of the final meeting with Voldemort he knew must come, whether in a month, in a year, or in ten, he felt his heart lift at the thought that there was still one last golden day of peace left to enjoy with Ron and Hermione.' With these words "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" draws to a close. And here, in this seventh and final book, Harry discovers what fate truly has in store for him as he inexorably makes his way to that final meeting with Voldemort. In this thrilling climax to the phenomenally bestselling series, J.K. Rowling will reveal all to her eagerly waiting readers.

I thought what sounded interesting was "In this thrilling climax to the phenomenally bestselling series, J.K. Rowling will reveal all to her eagerly waiting readers" it got my attention because i like thrillers and i loved all the books and this made me wanna read it more

message 11: by Travis (new)

Travis | 7 comments This book review of the big sleep is my favorite because it summarizes the world that Raymond chandler created while having a noir format within itself.
"Slouch down in your easy chair, put on some vinyl (jazz will do), open a bottle of brew and drift back to the time when life was lived on the edge. It's the 30's in LA when women's share came from smooth talking, silk stockings and holding back nothing to get what you want. The Law was just like the grifters only with a badge. They moved back and forth between the courthouse and the seedy part of town with money to slap the hand of anyone with news to sell.

Money was the goal anyway you could get it. Blackmail was the way to solve all problems unless murder did it better. Everyone was packin' and all talked trash before the flash went off and gun power burned your face.

Deals were done over blackjack tables, in gumshoe offices, on street corners, and in back rooms. The moral lines were blurred or not even there. Danger was everywhere, from the guy you notice following you, to your hire's crazy daughters.

Your words better hit their mark before the bullet sends you to THE BIG SLEEP.

Chandler created this world, populated it with grey characters, and transported readers to crime noir.

Highest Recommendation! Favorite!" -cheryl

This book is as much an epic coming-of-age story as it is a horror novel about a monster. As with most of King's stories, the characters are what make it interesting, and the children, in particular, are very well-realized. However, it also suffers from many of King's "doorstopper" novels; it could have been just as good with half as many pages. Also, it has probably one of the worst endings of any King novel.
This review was by DAVID in 2010. It's a good review because it gives you an insight on the story im about to try and begin. It also tells you the ending without a spoiler.
