This Tuesday we'll record an interview with Peter V. Brett. We've got some questions for him but I bet you do too! Let us know what they are here and we'll ask him as many as we can.

message 2: by Ben (new)

Ben Rowe (benwickens) I've seen the first book in his Demon Cycle series called both "The Painted Man" and "The Warded Man" - which is his preferred title.

Joseph Selby (jlselby) | 3 comments Someone will inevitably see you're participating in a S&L podcast and say, "Get back to work writing your next book!" What do you have to say to that?

message 4: by Nadine (new)

Nadine | 10 comments - When did you first start to think up/ create the Demon Cycle series? And how did it come about?
- Have the characters and storyline changed much from your original ideas?

message 5: by Kristina (new)

Kristina | 588 comments One of the things I like best about his books is how distinct and real the different cultures feel. Was there a lot of research that went into that? Was there a specific culture that influenced the Kraisians and their rituals?

Love the books! So excited for The Skull Throne... Team Arlen FTW!

terpkristin | 4407 comments As I haven't read anything by him yet (Demon Cycle #1 is on my to-read shelf and I have a copy of it...just need bandwidth!), I can't ask any intelligent questions about the books. So instead, what books/authors influenced him?

What is his favorite book he's read this year? Album he's listened to? Does he have a demon ward tattoo (or other literary tattoo...or any tattoo)? How does he feel about people getting symbols from his books tattoo'd?

Has his background in pharmaceutical publishing (what is that, exactly?!) influenced his fiction in any way?

message 7: by 冠閎 (new)

冠閎 黃 | 1 comments will he write a book talk about how the 1st Delieverer "Kaji" united the ppl and drove demon into the core ?

will he explain the detail how Arlen got to the oasis when Jardir left him in the desert ? (there's a paragraph
mentioned about it but it looks like there's a blank time even Arlen himself looks like he doesn't know how he got there. this question leads to my last question is there really some power or force gives helping hand to people who try to stand out against demon ??

I really love his books and every characters he created

message 8: by Douglas (new)

Douglas | 2 comments How do you go about outlining your books before writing them?

Does Myke Cole ever smile?

What Characters did you have a voice for and have to cut to a background character because it did not fit in the storyline?

Do you have an end to the series in mind and are working toward that or will you keep writing till an end comes about?

message 9: by Sandi (new)

Sandi (sandikal) | 1212 comments One of the things I was hoping for after the first book came out was an explanation of what the demons are and where they come from. The first book hints that the world used to be a lot like ours, but the demons have set everything back. Will there be an exploration of the world before the demons and the origin of the creatures?

message 10: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 53 comments Gosh, I've just started reading the first book and am enjoying it, but I'm far too early in the narrative to have any particularly useful questions about it. Darn! I'll follow the interview with interest though.

message 11: by Aamir (new)

Aamir | 2 comments Are you fascinated with middle eastern culture? Are you trying to send a message by via your focus on the two main religions, which are heavily influenced by Islam and Christianity?

Finally is it still possible for Arlen and Leesha to become a couple?

message 12: by Steven (new)

Steven Moore | 1 comments There is a hint to old technology making it easy to see the world as very future earth, is it a stretch to call the mind demons aliens? What we call Magic is simply technology advanced beyond us?

message 13: by Sue (new)

Sue | 1 comments Hi Peat, it's Sue from twitter!
Just wondering if you would be doing another UK book tour when Skull Throne is published? I promise to introduce myself properly if you do!!
Also how do you create character and place names?
Do you have any other worlds waiting to be created after Demon Cycle is finished?

sue :)

message 14: by Peter (new)

Peter Mckee | 1 comments Hi peter, another peter here. In each of the three books you have written from three different viewpoints of humans. Arlen, jardir & inevera. Will you be writing mainly from the viewpoint of the demon queen in the 4th or 5th books? Really curious to see how the next book is going to be laid out. Can't wait, give us a rough time of completion!!
