Do you remember the nationality of the author/illustrator? Were the American, French, Japanese, etc?
Can you describe the illustration style? Was it in color, black and white, monochromatic? Realistic drawing, cartoony, cutesey?

I do not remember the nationality of the author. Was probably western though.
Illustration style was color; realistic drawing, definitely not cartoony.
Was definitely not manga, more like illustration.
And it was a whole story/book, like it had a conclusion and it wasn't part of a larger storyline (I don't think).

Here's a review with pictures from inside the book
http://www.parkablogs.com/content/boo...
The book was printed fairly large, hardcover (I think), print quality was very good, so I'm guessing it's not a very old book.
It was graphic novel/comic format, but I remember the art being very artistic, not "comic book"-like
I think it started off with a scene of the man (mc) waking up in some kind of metal pod. He goes outside to see that it's actually a forest.
The setting is pretty rural, I think, at least in the beginning.
He was an android, I think, but he wasn't aware of it until he scraped his arm and saw that underneath his skin was robotics.
I also remember a scene in which he is running away from something, and ducks into a brick alleyway to escape.
Something else about gigantic robot ships unloading.
And it ends with him fighting this female robot entity who can control different bodies. He ends up killing her original one, which is suspended in a tank.
Please help, this is killing me!!
Thanks!
