How do you like your coffee and doughnuts, if you please?
I do not have coffee. Ever. Cept as ice cream. Once had a cappi with french vanilla. Eh. Hot chocolate with cinnamon is better.
Could you survive without coffee?
I don't need it for a minute. I usually love it from afar but abstain. I can go months without drinking it...except for this week.
Dunkin Donuts insists on putting in the cream for me -- and they ALWAYS put in way too much, no matter how many times I say, "Just a little bit of cream."Starbucks or Caribou are my favorites. Tall, and room for a little cream. Just a little.
1/2 and 1/2 for me. No sugar. And no, I could NOT get by without coffee. It's hard enough to make it first thing in the morning, before I've had any. heh. But I usually stick to one big mug in the morning. Unless I go to Costco. Their latte freezes are oh so good.
Mmm, chocolate-covered espresso beans are the BOMB, Tanja!I'm mocha from the latte stand girl. Unless I drag out my French press, I usually don't care for regular coffee. I drink tea. It goes good with scones.
I'm pretty fanatical about my coffee. Trader Joe's sells this Scandinavian Arabica coffee that I drink at home. With half-and-half, and 3 spoonfuls of sugar.
When at work, I duck down to the Starbucks (yeah, I know...BOO! HISS!) downstairs and get me a Misto (basically, it's their cafe latte) with steamed non-fat milk. It's very tasty.
Coffee and water are my daily beverages. And beer.

No straight shots of whiskey, Gus?Jackie, absolutely! I get giddy standing by the chocolate-covered espresso bean quarter machine. Instead of candy it's CHOCOLATE BEANS!
No. I drop acid in my coffee from time to time, though.
Drop the magic beans into your coffee next time. Cheaper than acid I betcha. No more having to pimp out the old lady for that extra buzz.
I almost always prefer my coffee black. Sometimes I go through phases where I enjoy a bit of cream and only if the coffee is truly unpalatable do I add sugar. Village Inn coffee needs sugar, por ejemplo.
Black. At 4:30AM. Fresh ground. Usually beans from Trader Joe's or the big bag of Starbucks beans from Costco.Sometimes another cup around 10AM, sold to me by a cute college girl working her way through school.
I generally like a little bit of coffee with my cream and sugar. If I need the caffeine enough, then I'll do that. But my favorite so far has to be when I went to Starbuck's and got this Hot chocolate with a shot of espresso in it. That was complete heaven.
I'm not too picky about my coffee as long as it is not too cheap tasting and is brewed strong. Prefer my coffee iced, which weirds out a lot of people around here. No cream, no sugar - must be black. Usually have a glass at breakfast and another one at lunch, unless i've stayed up too late on GR the previous night and need more.No offense to the Starbucks drinkers, but I always thought that their coffee tastes like they scorch their beans during the roasting process...
A great little coffee place down the street from my office offers a latte with decaf espresso and non-fat milk. They call it the Why Bother Latte, which I find infinitely amusing.
That's true on the Starbucks (or Charbucks) with their bolder coffees. I usually get a middle-of-the-road blend that's not so burnt-tasting.
i can drink coffee any way but i prefer a bit of milk/cream and a sweetner. i can do black coffee anytime but i sort of prefer chick coffee at night (flavored). when i travel to anyplace remote i take course ground coffee and my french press so i can make coffee anywhere. all i have to be able to do is boil water. makes me feel like a gentleman traveler. i like starbucks and seattle's best coffee the most but dunkin' donuts has good coffee. i did sorta get a taste for chai tea in india recently but how do you make it?
I love coffee... almost as much as chocolate... and I have to confess I'm a bit of a coffee snob. I managed a coffee shop for 2 years and I learned how to make it a certain way, so now when I order it from whatever local place (yes... I end up at Starbucks way more than I want to) I'm always a bit disappointed. My favorite is a dark espresso mocha made with a rich, dark chocolate syrup and hazelnut syrup. It's not something I have every day cause it's not good for my diabetes, but it sure hits the spot when I need a treat. Otherwise, I'll get by on a good iced coffee with cream & nutrasweet. Oh, and when I had to open the shop at 5 am, I used to down a coupla Dopias - 2 shots of dark espresso with whipped cream (often flavored with chocolate or hazelnut or almond) filled to the top of a short cup. Those were too good, and I'd buzz around for a few hours and then crash by the time I made it home in the afternoon.
I can't stand bad coffee... and can barely tolerate drip unless it's certain types, like Godiva or Seattles Best, with warmed milk and flavored nutty syrups. If the coffee is too weak or too bitter, I have to put on my snooty persona and turn up my nose to it. It's just awful. But good coffee, which tastes just like it came straight from Italy... that is to die for. (sigh) Dangit, now I want some.
-i love coffee in starbuks, cappucino maybe with mint. -i love my carabian coffee in the morning, and let my body recharge.
-i love hot coffee in coffee bean, with white love on the top.
-i love black coffee when i come to my grandparents house in the evening and talk everythin with them.
-i love ice coffee in in j.co and eat my j.crown with my friends.
-i love coffee with bubble from hop-hop drink when i watching movie with someone.
-i love coffee coz, coffee have a lot of means in every situation, even have a lot of taste but, basicly, tht wont taste cool without coffee inside.
^^)
I'll drink just about any drink that Starbucks has to offer. But when preparing my own coffee, I just use creamer--preferably French Vanilla or Hazelnut.
I am just joining this group, I am curious if this is a more adult group? the last group had to have permission to drink coffee, I felt so ancient. I don't mind kids, I have some of my own actually.
Coffee has seen me thru a lot of eventful times in my life. In many emergency rooms, coffee was there before anyone els. when staying up with a sick child. when having to stay up to breast feed my last baby( I tnink this is why she is so hypre now, ooops),while waiting for my husband to come home. Now I share it with my oldest daughter, and now I remember my grandma giving me coffee in my red cowboy boot shaped cup(mostly milk and sugar, but people now call that a capaccino, right?)of course my coffee is best with a little prayer mixed in. Happy thoughts.
Welcome, Michelle. Yes we are mostly what you would technically call adults -- although you wouldn't know it from the things we discuss on occasion.

Permission to drink coffee? Wow.RA, do I have permission to guzzle down large amounts of soda and swear I had coffee?
Cool,I need some fun in my life.O.K., How do I getthis to go instant? I keep having to go to my E-mail to read reply's and I am dbating Godand the healing power of prayer with some Athiest's on another group, I am so computer dangerous.
Well i can't just chat with a group, I have to chck my e-mail and reply fromthere. Or is that how it's suppose to work?

Did you join the group? Are you looking at the Terminal Coffee home page?
Are you a robot?
I'm confused.

I don't think any Canadians are present, but let me until you have tasted a Tim Horton's cup of coffee...well they sell a hell of a lot of coffee up here.
It's not a "chat" session, Michelle. You just have to log into Goodreads and pretty much live there all the time. No, not really. You can just go to your "home" page once in a while -- like every 10 seconds or so ha ha -- and look for red numbers by the thread titles indicating new comments. Click on the red numbers and they will magically appear before you for your reading pleasure. Then just respond as you see fit, making sure to say things that are really funny or important/profound, or both.
I'm kind of Canadian sometimes, Gerry. Tim Horton's is good stuff. I'm still waving the flag for our fabulous local Zeke's, though...
My dream cup of coffee which I very seldom have is usually cinnamon blend from a real coffee bean and tea shop. Brew it up add REAL cream and REAL sugar. Some whip cream on top, a dash of cinnamon powder, and some type of sweet. Cookies or coffee cake. That with a good book. This is my therapy and vacation.

If it's good coffee, I prefer a bit of milk, but no sugar. Crappy coffee needs sugar.
Everyplace in my neighborhood (other than Dunkin Donuts) serves our local Zeke's (http://www.zekescoffee.com/), which is damn fine coffee. I can usually resist, but the rain and the tired are combining to lure me in.
