Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments BB King does a great outdoor arena performance. Gah. Amazing.

So does Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. :)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Who is this woman with no pants?

My God, that made me laugh...I heard she dressed up in some clothes made from Kermits a couple days back. Is that true?

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Ewwwwww. This is just.... wrong.

Matthieu | 1009 comments "La Jeune Amoureuse" - Julie Doiron

I FUCKING HATE Lady Gaga! She made my residence hall a living hell.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Whaaaaaaat??? Lady Gaga was at Princeton????

WHAT DID SHE DO IN YOUR RESIDENCE HALL, MATT????

message 259: by Matthieu (new)

Matthieu | 1009 comments Haha, no she wasn't at Princeton, per se... It was just that these girls across the hall played her music 24/7. It was horrific.

message 260: by Nuri (new)

Nuri (nools) | 538 comments BACKPEDALLING -- woah, Tanja! I haven't thought of L'arc in ages, but I used to be such a fan. I'm guessing you do the whole Japanese culture thing?

message 261: by Angie (new)

Angie (angabel) That Kermit coat is the funniest thing ever.

I like Lady Gaga, but I am often outraged at her. I think I just dig the whole arty vibe that she brings back; it's getting people my age back into Dadaism and Warhol, and forever much as you could say they're all hacks, I don't mind a more artistic lens to my pop music. I'd rather see decapitated Kermit than boobies flying everywhere. (... has she done that yet?)

I'm listening to one of my students' albums. The above link is his big hit single and atrociously bad hair.

I really like it when they take classical music and rock it up a little.

Dorm life does have a way of ruining certain music for you (not that Lady Gaga needed any help). My freshman year there were these girls in the dorm next to ours that played James "Laid" every afternoon at least three times. I still can't listen to that song and its been 13 years.

My mistake Heidi, because stoic and serious are exactly what come to mind when I think about you.

One of the most fun live bands I ever saw, by the way...

message 285: by Chloe (new)

Chloe (countessofblooms) | 347 comments <-- Jealous of RA's live Replacements experience...

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Are The Replacements the ones with the light bulb heads?

message 287: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments What? No, I think you're talking about Red Hot Chili Peppers. Let me find a pic.

message 289: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Oh, and Logan, I think I saw the Replacements...four times...twice on Pleased to Meet Me (both at the Riv, if I remember correctly), once on Don't Tell a Soul at the Aragon, and one surprisingly strong set supporting Tom Petty at a huge arena outside Chicago. I wish I would have seen them on the Tim or Let It Be tours, though...

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I have no idea what I'm thinking of, RA. Sometime back in the 80's, I saw a picture of a band dressed like light bulbs in a music guide.

I thought it was The Replacements, but it could have been a photo of the RHCPs on the same page, I'm thinking now.

message 291: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments The Replacements might have worn light bulbs. It's possible.

Maybe it was Steely Dan.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments No, if it were Steely Dan, it wouldn't have been light bulbs.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Actually, that was a pretty salacious joke I was making, Sally. My apologies to all of you who are familiar with what Steely Dan is named for...

Wow. That was a salacious joke, and it went right over my head. Well done, librarian.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Too subtle, then? I should have made it more clear with a wink or something...
