RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Pssst...Jacks...visualize this...

"Yo, Kev, could you pass the soap? And turn up the radio, wouldya? I can't hear the Colts game..."

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Okay, now I'm picturing you with your baseball caps still on, beers by your sides...

message 1153: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments If something good happened during the game, Jacks, we'd reach over and high-five each other, sending bubbles flying everywhere...

message 1154: by [deleted user] (new)

The only appropriate way to listen to Slayer in the bath is if you're bathing in blood.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Just as long as there are plenty of bubbles, RA. Let's keep this PG-13, please.

I could have sworn Kevin's was a fruit hat.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments You're right, of course, Sally. Silly me, of course Kevin is wearing his fruit hat.

Kevin, please remember not to operate your chain saw while you're in the tub, okay?

RA, that link doesn't appear to work. It says I don't have permission to view it. :(

message 1159: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments That's ok, Jacks, I found a better one:)

Jackie is sensory overloaded! I'm way over here, not imagining these things!

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
RA, what IS that? Please, please, please don't tell me that is either you or Kevin anywhere near the tub.

message 1162: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I don't know. I googled "gerber baby" because I wanted to post a pic of the gerber baby with the dog pulling off the diaper and say it was Kevin after the bathtub, but everything went awry and I ended up with those two pics instead:)

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Gah! I don't think I like that picture, RA. I actually prefer the bubble bath/men in hats image...

message 1164: by Lori (new)

Lori Happy 63rd bday to David Bowie!

I lurve him.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Whew! Thanks, KD.

Oh, I'm listening to...

I don't think it was the Gerber baby you were after, RA. I think it was the Coppertone baby.

message 1167: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Shit! You're right, Sally...that's why I kept getting the wrong babies...

It used to be all over at Huntington Beach when my grandma lived there when I was little.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments So, now I'm picturing RA in little pigtails. This is NOT good...

Sally, have mercy!

Kip Winger is STILL a dork today. I saw him interviewed on VH1's lame-assed Top 100 Hard Rock Songs of All Time countdown, and he still comes across as that overtanned doucher with a jones for teenage girls. Frickin' tool.

(Shhh... sorry to use you as bait, KD. I was REALLY trying to trick RA and I had to use someone else as bait, but it had to be someone cool or he wouldn't fall for it.)

message 1175: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments :( Sorry, KD.

I think there's nooo way possible we could trick RA now. OR... maaaaybe, you could tease that I posted something ELSE, KD... and I could change my posts too... and maaaybe there's still hope and we could pull one over on him! It could be a concerted effort! AND everyone KNOWS that tricking RA is the quickest fix to getting Winger out of your head... cuz riiiight?

I am totally confused by this, so it must have worked.:)

My mp3 player finally died, three years after the purchase...so I'm back to CDs for a couple weeks until I decide to buy. Feels weird. But I'm pulling out a lot of classical I haven't heard in a while...Mahler this morning...

OH! I didn't know he had a solo album out. I'll have to give it a listen.

the title is 'keep it hid' - maybe people have taken it literally and that's why you haven't heard of it yet ;) it was released somewhere in the first half of 2009 i think. let me know how/if you like it.

message 1181: by smetchie (new)

Ahh, a little NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) will do the trick!"

Speaking of Saxon, back in 1982 at Meadowbrook Music Theater, just north of Detroit, someone got the bright idea of booking them to open for Cheap Trick. After about a half hour of a bunch of power pop fans sitting on their hands - including me - lead singer Biff Byford said, "Whatsa matter? You all on your periods?"

Cue laugh track...

Would you have clicked on this link if I'd written "For YOU, RA!"?

I think not. That's why I made it say "For you, KD!" - you probably didn't even click on the link, though, did you?

p.s. I posted it in direct response to

Not sexy. I loved the guy, but I'd hesitate to call him attractive. He wore his hair across his face for a reason.

RandomAnthony wrote: "Did somebody mention Suicide's first record lately? I was listening to that on the way to work this morning...great album."

No, but here, here! Still slightly disturbing, what what a record, er, album. Hard to believe it came out 33 years ago. Christ, where did the time go?

message 1191: by [deleted user] (new)

One good:

An album that sounds like 10 great singles. Oh, all right, then - seven great singles and three great B-sides.

And one not so good:

The unmistakable sound of millionaires' pension plans being topped up.

Cynthia wrote: "Who doesn't find Joey Ramone sexy? Not in a pretty-boy way, of course, but in that Bad Boy way that I found so irresistable in high school...."

Too bad he wasn't built for the long haul. I still miss him, Johnny, and Dee Dee. Forget Anita Bryant and orange juice. A day without the Ramones is like a day without sunshine.

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I'm in a coffee shop and The Jam's "That's Entertainment" just came on the speakers. Great song.

Sparks were underrated, no doubt, Clark...and Suicide still blows me away thirty plus years later...now to find some Tubeway Army...

Methinks "Replicas" is the one. "Are Friends Electric?" and "Down in the Park" are great songs.

Okay, hear me out. If you can get by Pete Burns' gender-blurring schtick (I think he's still technically a man) and the western rough-trade motif unfurled in the video, there's a nifty little pop hook buried underneath all of the production that will make your head spin, your liver quiver, and your bladder splatter.

message 1199: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I would make the same argument for Men Without Hats, who released, to my ears, three or four cool and interesting synth records.
