It's more than a bit over-rated. Things are pretty much the same, but a little more sleek. Cell phones? They've shrunk down to nothing. People walk around with little headsets on talking to themselves more, so it's sort of like NYC circa 1988. Also, if you have any retirement savings with a company called Enron, you may want to dump it fast. Please allow me to issue warm greetings from the future!

It was not the manliest of moments.

You are lucky the lyrics weren't the other way around, RA. :)

And Jacks...let's just say if Taylor Swift's lyrics are a problem you don't want to be around when I break out the Amy Grant...

El Shaddai, El Shaddai...
Nice name for a band -
Group Slut Mindy & The King Pimps

(And I am so incrediby honored to have my slutty pimpiness immortalized in a thread title! Thanks Sally or RA!)

Thank you, SALLY!
Isn't there a band called the King Pimps already?
or verbosably expert thread namer

i did totally screw up first attempt at making fortune cookies last night. mixed up recipe and followed directions (mostly) and ended up with gooey globs. after several attempts i gave up and painstakingly cleaned everything up. my wife asked me "did you use powdered sugar?" to which i replied "no, i used regular sugar and flour." she then told me i didn't use flour, i used powdered sugar from the canister. ooopsie. no wonder they tasted so good but never baked up.
round two tonight

Springsteen is coming to Baltimore for the first time since 1973, and I think I will be out of town.
*sobs again*

I have the score from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon it would make nice back ground music/ Also when you read your fortunes make sure they say "In Bed" after. Very funny. You are such a good dad!

"Your dog Sparky… well, he’s no longer missing"
In Bed????
You're sick, Michelle. No two ways about it.

Tony Scott's Zen Music for Meditation is wonderful (on permanent rotation at my home).
Also I have Ensemble Nipponia - Japan Traditional Vocal and Instrumental Music.
Both are very relaxing and lovely.

Yeah, it is a more tongue-in-cheek version of his style, Sarah Pi. I like it for that.

Strange Times--The Black Keys
Solute Your Solution--Raconteurs
Charmer--Kings of Leon
The Kids Don't Stand a Chance--Vampire Weekend
