What Are You Listening to Right Now?

"Helter Skelter" - The Beatles
"Take Five" - Dave Brubeck
"Skating" - Vince Guaraldi
"The Ride of the Valkyries" - Richard Wagner

For example, skating is 796.9, and horseback riding (which is what the Valkyries are doing) is 798.2.
:)

Matt: Joanna Newsom. That was you right? (i would look back to be sure but GR is sooooooooooooooo slow) You know I actually kind of like that. I was surprised because we seem to have pretty different taste. didn't exactly like it at first but her voice is just so odd I couldn't help myself. I like her lyrics. Plus she makes my 5-year-old giggle uncontrollably, which I find irresistible. So, THANKS!

That would make sense since mp3 players can be quite small and still hold a lot of music(and the program) as compared to a regularly burned CD.

Do you want to burn a data disc with 200 albums, or do you want to burn music files that will play in a cd player?

:)
No. You can put many more albums on a disc, but if you do anything on it that isn't a playable file then that disc will pop back out of the player. CD players can't read that format.
Sometimes the discs you people make won't play in my old, pre -8 disc player I use at school in my office.

I'm trying to say you can move files to the disc drive and put many on there, or you can open iTunes (or whatever) and burn individual songs.

I don't think it is possible to put 100 songs on a CD. Even a rewritable one. Can we use the analogy of an old LP album?

Yes, that's how I did it, Mindy. When you're burning you're CD in iTunes, you can choose the format you want it to use for the burning.

No, then you can put it in your computer and open it with iTunes. Then you can make playlists and burn 20 songs/4.7 gigabytes worth of music to a disc.

It's the way the future is headed. That's why it's a little silly we're still exchanging discs. But I like them to play in my car.

Boston U Student Fined $675,000 Over Music Sharing
AppScout — It's hard to place a value on a really good song, right? For everyone but the record industry, perhaps. If they're to believed, that number comes out to roughly $22,500. That's how much one Boston University student is being asked to pay. He's been hit with a $675,000 fine for stealing 30 songs. The student, Joel Tenenbaum, and his lawyer, Charles Nesson, plan to appeal the decision. The record industry...

Django Haskins and his band The Old Ceremony have a song or two in Chinese. They're pretty songs. Not exactly traditional, though.

Oh yeah, today I've been listening to Florence & The Machine's new record, Lungs. It's kind of what I would expect from a less dramatic Dresden Dolls fronted by Sia with more of a pop sound added in.

Right now it's Satie's Gymnopedie 3. It's beautiful. It makes me want to cry.
I think I'm on the verge of being pushed passed my limit of being stressed out at work. I really need it right now.
