Aaron I can't remember what book this scene is from!

The scene is essentially that there are two mechanics who work in a shop together, one is an anarchist, the other a communist, and they spend all their time arguing the merits of their political philosophies.

I thought it was Orwell's Homage to Catalonia, but it didn't totally fit in with what I remember being in that book. Then I thought it might be DeLillo's White Noise, but I think I'm confusing it with the scholars who talk about brushing their teeth in the sink.

Anyone know of something like this occurring somewhere in a book?

Gregory Rothbard There is something of this in orwell's book

Rebecca That was in Down and Out in Paris and London, but it was a restaurant, not a shop. Maybe he put it in another book as well? It sounds like an idea that could be in many books.
