Gary Van Cott I don't like ghosts in mysteries. This is the second Swedish book that I have read recently that includes them. The first was The Darkest Room. Ghosts just don't work for me, I would like a story to be as plausible as possible. I also don't care for the domestic violence angle which this author has used before and seems to be especially common in Swedish mysteries. Another defect is the scam which seems highly unlikely without the city employees failing to do any investigation of their partners in a big development. Another smaller issue is that one of the characters is living on a very small island. No mention is ever made of how she is keeping her mobile phone charged up.

S. Lynham I also wondered about the mobile phone...mine sure wouldn't last 2 weeks on one charge.
