Review: This was such an awesome book, so glad I got back into this world! Just wish I was reading it for the first time, I loved all of the tests, the obstacles, the trials, there were just so many amazing things. This was super action-packed, and the romance felt just right for me, not too full-on but just enough to almost be believable. I liked the betrayal, the twists and turns, the politics, and the way Tris learnt so much about herself and developed along the way, learning to trust herself and understanding different ways of doing things. I'll definitely continue on with the series in a bit, get more off my TBR.

This book was pretty amazing, it had it's faults though, but I think that is a big part of any book geared towards more a teen audience. I read this such a long time ago, and forgot a lot of it, but now it all came back to me. I still love it so much.

I think the characters were well developed, and I like that it shows that people change, and nobody was absolutely good, which I always love in a book.

I think Veronica Roth, did a very good showing the twists and turns, while also balancing friendship, romance, and family relationships.

Ive never actually read the series, so I’m interested to see how it’s in writing. Reading in Dutch tho, the names for the factions are already confusing me 🤣 she did the test and it showed her as divergent, she’s so lucky she got this girl and not someone else to test her. Even tho I knew it was happening, I still feel so bad for their parents - Caleb going to the enemy (Erudites) and her going to fearlessness. Her mother seemed proud tho! It’s quite the same as the movie so far, been a while since I’ve seen that tho! They jumped from the train, and she jumped down first eheh. Her description of Markus’ eyes and then Four’s, both this ‘odd’ blue color hmm. Family? (hide spoiler)]

The fact that people will just ‘fall off’ and be factionless is verrrrry intense, I def would’ve wanted to know before 🤣 wonder if the others have things like that too. Peter sucks thoooo!! I love how they’re showing that she doesn’t just forget her old faction, but that she’s constantly thinking back on rules that are integrated in her by now. Makes it very realistic!

The scene where Eric made Christina hang on the railing was insane omg. Liking Tris less and less woah, the fact that we can now read her thoughts and how she was like meh I won’t help, wtf? I love Al tho, he’s the one nice person in this. Gosh. And the way she described him wtf??? ‘I can never like someone this fragile’? Wow she’s detestable. Actually hate her lmao. He killed himself. Not unexpected, but still very tragic. I kinda love how Eric praised him for it tbh and how he made suicide not seem as a coward act, but as bravery.
