I enjoyed that part, too, ~Leslie~. Shows what a good writer LK is.

Just finished! I loved the ending - so emotional.4.5 stars for this one. It is a re-read for me - I'm pretty sure I've read them all, actually. But I never remember details!
~Leslie~ wrote: "LK, have you ever read her fantasy series?"I'm not a big Fantasy reader. Usually, if a book is left unfinished, 9 times out of 10 it is a Fantasy. I try and try to read them and I usually loose interest. I tried reading her Nine Kingdoms several times and couldn't finish the first book.
I thought I'd found a neat one, Symphony of Ages series, by Elizabeth Haydon... because supposedly there was some Romance in that one, but I couldn't hang on half way through the second book to get to the good stuff.
I do like UF, though. ☺

With so much world building and filler, I find myself skimming more. I have read the first 3 books in the Symphony of Ages and enjoyed them but it was a struggle at times.
I still haven't started this :( My team challenges haven't been very cooperative.
LOL Leslie, at the take a bath! I do like Kurland's writing. She does focus on the romance. It seems that sometimes authors that include explicit scenes tend to focus on that rather than building the romance.
I've been re-reading several series for the past couple of years. When I started reading again after a very long hiatus, I didn't know anything about reading books in order and just grabbed whatever I could find at the library. I'm now trying to read those same books in order. Which is how this read-a-thon came about.I'm the say with movies as well, which is why I can watch them over and over. I'm always surprised at the new details I discover.
I really love her fantasy series. I'm not a huge fantasy reader, the world building tends to lose me. But I do love the Nine Kingdoms series. I also highly recommend Anne Bishop's Black Jewels trilogy. It is truly one of the most amazing series I've ever read. And it has romance!!
And I completely agree about books that focus so much on the sexual relationship that they lose the romance. I want romance and sex (not necessarily explicit) not sex with some romance.
Oh, Judy, the Temeraire Dragon series sounds good on audio. Luckily, my library has
-- so I'll give that one a try.
I planned on using that for my NN, but I got caught up in the IAD series and am using Dark Needs at Night's Edge. Maybe next year!
LK, I've been wanting to read the Temeraire Dragon series for awhile. Too many series, too little time!

Yay, Nichole!!You obviously have a better library than me, LK. Mine does not have this series on audio. Sad.
Yeah, I actually use San Jose library (in California) and also download from San Francisco. My BFF drove up to SF with me one day and helped me get a card, even though she said it was "enabling" my addiction. LOL! It was a beautiful drive - and well worth it for the book access.
