Isabelle's room walls are black with shimmering swirls of sponged-on golden paint. Clothes are strewn over the whole room, on the rumpled black bed, the backs of the wooden chairs, spilling out of the closet and the tall wardrobe against one wall with a floor-length mirror beside it. On the vanity table, there's another mirror trimmed with spangled pink fur and glitter, sequins and pots of blush and power.
