Alec walked around sharpening his sword and bumped into Jace. "Hey my bad."

"Ok, just whatever, Amy's back. Have fun with that Alec.Bye." Jace turned and rushed up the stairs as Amy came in. "I got the date wrong, my family gets here next month."
Alec quietly followed Jace. "Wonder what's going on?" He thought.
"Why are you following me? I was talking to Alec not you." Jace snapped.
"Oh I just wanted to see what's up."
"Wait, what's your name? Is it Alec? Because you started to follow me when I was talking to him..."
"Uhh yea. I just was bored and decided to follow you around. Also what is wrong with you why are you so gloomy
"Because my friend yelled at me at slammed her door in my face and told me she hates me. And my other friend called me a liar for something, bye."

((K))Alec looked awkwardly at Amy, not knowing what to say. "Sorry that your family isn't here yet," He said finally, his voice having an almost questioning tone to it, as though he wasn't sure whether it was the fight thing to say.
"Yeah, it can help your accuracy, probably," James told Sierra enthusiastically. "You basically chuck a heavy ball at a bunch of sticks, and try to knock as many as possible out in two throws," He gestured with his hands to imitate the throwing motion one made while bowling.
"Umm... thanks, I think. Well that stinks, I get to be stuck here the rest of the day. No offense, but I was hoping to see my family today." Amy looked at the ground as she said this.
"Hey, uh, Amy?" Alec said, his voice shaking slightly. He had no idea how he was going to tell her. Last time, Magnus had been there to help him, and now, he was sweating bullets at the though of telling Amy. He felt terrible at being nervous, and, steeling himself, he continued, this time in what he hoped to be a stronger voice, "I have something to tell you."

Sierra moved aside to avoid his flailing hands. "Okay, okay. I get it." she said, unable to hide a small smile. "I'll come bowling with you."
"Ok, what?" Amy asked shrugging, wonder what this is about. Did Jace actually tell him I liked him? If this is about that then great, yeah not really.
"See, while you were gone,'' Alec was struggling for words, blushing furiously. I have no idea how I'm going to do this, He thought to himself, wishing he had just held back on telling Amy for a little bit longer.James eyes widened in surprise, "Really? I didn't think you would say yes!" He grinned at her, slightly confused as to why she was accepting his offer, but not wanting to jinx it. "When would you like to go?"
"Ok, I was gone for, like ten years." Amy said. Why is he blushing so much? And not talking very well? she wondered.

"Well-" Alec had no idea how to phrase his sentence, or whether he could even muster up the courage to tell her at all. "It's just-" He stopped short again, wishing he hadn't approached this subject."We could go tonight," James volunteered, "of you're up for it, of course." He hoped he wasn't pushing it by asking her to come on such short notice.
"Well what? I if you want to tell me something just tell me, if not I'm going upstairs." She started walking towards the stairs and sat down on the bottom one. "You can tell me whenever you're ready."
"You know what? I'll tell you a different time," Alec said hurriedly, deciding to come back to this topic at a later time. His stomach was knotted, and felt slightly ill. It felt strange having to tell Amy this, and he didn't like the feeling at all.
"Ok, well come on." She grabbed his arm. "I have so much to tell you." She dragged him upstairs and sat down on the top step.
She pulled Alec down next to her and hugged her knees. She missed Emily, she hadn't seen her in about a month, since she had to help her grandma with cancer treatment. Tears filled her eyes and she tried to blink them away. "I miss Emily, and Owen." She whispered.
Alec blinked, slightly surprised at the new names, and also a little but glad for the subject change. However, he could see Amy was depressed, so he said, in a gentle voice, "Owen and Emily? Who are they?"
"Emily's my parabiti and Owen was my boyfriend. But he broke up with me, a while ago, but he was at the institute and I saw him with his new girlfriend every single day, well most days. But my dad decided that I have to come to New York with him and Emily will come when her grandma dies from cancer, I don't get to see my best friend for,like six months and my families coming next month. I hate this." She mumbled. (On my kindle, the word it suggested after 'i hate was twilight)

"Why did you come before your family?" Alec asked, doing his best to sound comforting. So much had changed since the last time he had seen her, and he could hardly believe the girl sitting next to him was the same one he'd known when he was younger.
"Because my brother's in school and my dad decided to send me early to live with you guys. He's controlling everything in my life, he always has. He got so mad years ago when I had my first crush, thinking they were bad. That's why I had to leave the Institute."
"I'm sorry to hear it," Alec looked down at the floorboards. "Have you been in the library yet? It's changed since the last time you've been here. For starters, Hodge isn't there."
She nodded. "I heard that he died in the war."
She thought he would say something about her crush, but he probably thought she liked Jace. The thought made her shiver a little.
"But anyway, how many other shadowhunters have been here?
Besides those guys out there, I arrived at a bad time."
