Kathrynn Please refer to the GR Librarian Discussion about this author's book order and how to post a book title for anthologies.

Also, there have been several comments in the aboved mentioned group of incorrect information found on Amazon.

**You don't have to be a librarian to join the librarian group, and I'm sure it's just an oversight that a librarian is not part of the librarian group, yet.**

When there is conflict between Amazon and the author; should go with the author.

I do agree that the order is strange and understand why there is confusion. I think those Dream-Hunter books listed and counted as Dark-Hunter books should be ordered with Dream-Hunter, but--for whatever reason--the author feels differently.

If anyone notices it changes, please drop me a note or any librarian or post to the GR Librarian Group; there's a topic started on Sherrilyn Kenyon.

Thank you and happy reading to you all.

Kathrynn

In my opinion, this new order is a mess. Turns me off looking at it and trying to make heads or tails out of what appears to be confusion. Ugh!

Smileyelena Attard Omg l am reading this series but after looking at what people have written l have no idea of the reading order I just finished reading dream hunter but l should of read that before dark side of the moon!
And l just noticed there's a book called fear of the darkness which l didn't know was even there!!
I am really enjoying the series however I am now disappointed cos l am not reading them in order

Danielle The anthologies do not matter. Start with #0 Fantasy lover then #1 Night Pleasures and go from there. All of the little books like fear the darkness do not really make a difference if you read them or not. Read the ones that are numbered 1-19, those are the meat of the series.

Smileyelena Attard Thanks Danielle.
It's a really good series l just finished "Devil may cry" can't wait to read Acheron heard its the best one!

Leonor Shoot the order changes a lot right? But the stories are independent aren't they? So it doesn't matter the right order right? I only read Fantasy Lover.

Miranda What I don't get is I have read Fantasy Lover, Night Pleasures, Night Embrace, Dance with the Devil, and am currently reading Kiss of the Night..but it seems that Kiss of the Night actually goes back like it is occurring at the same time Night Embrace is? Am I looking into this too much or must I keep reading to understand it?

Danielle Just keep reading:) If I remember correctly a few of her novels do that.

Miranda Yes, I finished Kiss of the Night. I get it now, after reading further. I guess if you aren't familiar with her books, it's very confusing at first, but I got used to it. I just started Night Play and it seems to have done the same thing on this one.

Hi!! I have had the privilege of reading this entire series and I loved every book!!!!

If you follow the link below, it will give you the correct reading order. It's the order I read them, and absolutely everything fell perfectly into place!!

http://janiesbookblog.blogspot.com/20...

Hope it helps!!

Missyb When I read them the order was a little different. The Dark Hunter & Dream Hunter books were listed seperately & together, and the Were Hunter books were not listed at all (they were called Dark Hunter books). I read Night Pleasure first, then read Fantasy Lover, and wish I had read Julian's book first. It explained where Julian fits into the Dark Hunter world, and he appears in a few different books. I also wished I'd read the Dream Hunter books intermixed with the Dark/were hunter books as they are now listed for reading order. I lost a lot by reading the Dream books seperately.

Why did you list the Chronicles of Nick books intermixed with the Dark/Dream/Were Hunter books? I found it interesting. I've only read the first Nick book but have not read the series since No Mercy.

There are bits and pieces within the Chronicles of Nick that tie into and relate to the Dark Hunter stories.

Missyb Janie's Book Blog wrote: "There are bits and pieces within the Chronicles of Nick that tie into and relate to the Dark Hunter stories."

I guess that late in the series it wouldn't make a difference. I think I was considering the first book being about Nick as a HS kid and that messing people up. Nice job on the listing, looked good

I know what you mean, it seems kind of weird, but it's just more insight into the characters and some of their pasts!

Thank you!! :)

Manuela Why is everyone so keen on reading SKs books in chronological order????? I don't get it and with all the reading order changes I have come across reading on these blogs I think it does NOT matter. I remember the first DH novel I read was Vanes story and since then I jumped from character to character and time frame to time frame. IT DOES NOT MATTER!!! I have been reading about gods and timetraveling weres, demons and daimons, squires and humans - all in all irational creatures that do no "logic"!Even some of the Dark Hunters and Dream Hunters are not logical though I love them no less! That's what makes this series stand out and all these stories can stand on their own as they tell a couples story from their meeting to their happily-ever-after.

That one does overlap (it's from a different point of view but the same story) a bit, but otherwise for the most part they don't. I think Z's story start and the wolf brothers when their sister goes into labor and Acheron & one of the DH's show up to help them in the woods, are the two bits of story that is repeated (just from different points of view). I may be wrong, it's been so long since I read this series.

Missyb Manuela wrote: "Why is everyone so keen on reading SKs books in chronological order????? I don't get it and with all the reading order changes I have come across reading on these blogs I think it does NOT matter. ..."

some of the books it will not matter when they're read, but many of them it will. For story continuity many of them are meant to be read after others, such as the wolf's stories. Bits of the characters that you learn get spoiled if read out of order. To each their own, some people read a story out of order and just deal with it, others cannot without getting things confused, and others don't really care.

Missyb, you are right, that for some it may be confusing. Luckily I don't have problems with it and should I win in Lotto I would probably buy the hole series and do exactly that, read it from front to back. I noticed though that since I read Acheron, his appearances in the previous books make more sense. It is not that I had my suspicions about him but I kind of did not put too much thought into his secrecy. Anyway, I do care about the chronology but as I said I jumped into that series pretty late so a lot of the books had been written when I borrowed Vane and Brides story from the library because I liked the back of the book and had not heard of SK before. Then I read another one where Vane was mentioned and I realized this was a series, which then got me to look for other books. Due to the availability I cannot choose which ones I want to read next. Since I am here on goodread I have an instrument to actually follow up which I have read and who it is about.
I do read other series as well and not neccessarily in their order either. Keeps my little grey cells working ;o)!!!

I have read every one - most in "paper" book form but the last 5 maybe as e-books
I followed the reading order and have enjoyed it for the most part... like all series some books are just better then others - but i don't let that taint the series

the only ones I have not read are the "nick" books - they seem to YA for me
