Hopefully most of us know who Jane Austen is. What would your name be if you were a character in one of her novels?

These are fun Alannah, thanks for sharing!

I've just done the What's your stereotype quiz & I'm a hippie! Which is funny because I've always said I missed my generation & should have been a hippy!

You may not have long hair or a closet full of tie-dye, but you definitely dance to the beat of your own drum. (And you may even play the drum as well.)
You are a true free spirit. You don't let yourself be weighed down by rules and expectations.

You are creative, philosophical, and caring. You want everyone to have a better life.
For you, the worst thing in the world is being stuck in some rat race. You would rather be broke than have to wear a suit every day.

message 14: by Bionic Jean (new)

Amelia Dudley.

Mrs. Penelope Denham.
Miss Bella Maclean.

Amber, you should really try some Austen!

message 23: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) Hey leslie, I think I should too but will probably wait until january. Wouldn't know which of her books would be a good one to start with though.

I've read three of her books, so I'm not an expert, but I think Northanger Abbey might be an easy place to start. I read that book earlier this year and really enjoyed it. Just a thought.

message 25: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) Thanks kristi. I'll see if it is on feedbooks later.

All of Austen's books are in the public domain so you can get them for free at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, feedbooks, Project Gutenburg, and other sites...

message 27: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) Thanks leslie. Found it on feedbooks for free yesterday so its in my tablet in my aldiko ereader with geek mafia and others. Need to add northanger abbey to my classics tbr list soon. :-)

message 28: by Bionic Jean (new)

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) Hey Amber I agree with Kristi that "Northanger Abbey" would be a great place for you to start with Jane Austen, because the heroine is a young woman who is addicted to Gothic novels! I know it was published in 1817...but still, does it sound familiar? LOL

By the way it was the first one I read too :)

message 29: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) Awesome jean and that's very cool! :-)
