#7 - ☺

#11 – I’m wondering about her, too.

#12 – Seriously!

#16 - (view spoiler)

#17 - Yes, a little overkill.

#18 - We can only hope. I'm not too fond of the repetition of LS's love scenes.

I want to but I don't think I can. Hopefully Kit or June will!

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments Ok, came back to the old house to get on and answer these. Might not be able to get back on again for a few days though, I'm sure the cable company is going to make me wait til Monday at least before they come out and hook me up at the new house :\

Kit's Answers to Lisa Kay’s Questions for Chapter 12 – 14
Sorry… I was bad; another book caught my interest.

15. I don’t doubt Barnaby’s desire, but I do feel the need to reiterate what Pen all but indicated: any man can get an erection, by a woman. Or a monkey, if he’s rub the right way. Comments.
Exactly. Guys can get erections from the breeze if it blows nice enough ;) One boner does not true love make...

16. Here we go with the seeking “knowledge” thing and her sexuality. What is she, thirteen instead of 24 or 28 (I’ve seen both these ages stated)? And he’s thrilled. So, this is a tired plot of LS, but does it also ruin it for you when another author uses it, or do you make allowances for them?
Ugh! Seriously!!! Enough with the lessons and stages and levels of desire and yada yada! So sick of it from SL. Not fond of it from other authors either but when it's like every damn book from this author, it gets old quick! She must be blind or dumb to have never thought any guy ever was even remotely attractive. I mean, almost every girl has some sort of crush on someone when they're young. I love my guy, but I can still see that other people look attractive.

17. What did you think of her ruse and the cosh on the head? A little drastic, don’t you think? She could have been hurt. I did giggle over Barnaby envying Luc being proposed to. LOL! He should knock Pen up and keep her on tenterhooks wondering if he’ll marry her; that would be a change from the normal plotline.
OMG, it was way too dramatic. Like... really? She couldn't have found an easier way into his bed. I liked how Barnaby was thinking that too though. Maybe she will eventually. But yes, your knock her up plan would be a way better change of plot! None of SL's h's ever get pregnant before the marriage and love confession. Ever. Even though they go at it like rabbits on Viagra. Just once I'd like to see one of those uppity wenches (said with fondness of course :p) have to actually worry instead of being all smug and confident that life will be great whether they get married or not.

18. Yes, you all are right; I’m enjoying Stokes and Griselda’s story; I’m hoping we don’t see their “primitive nature.” Comments
At this point, I'd rather see Stokes in 'action' instead of Pen and Barnaby. I'm tired of their primitiveness already. Lol. But no, I do like how their romance is still in the shy attraction stage. But get back to the dang mystery already!

15. I don’t doubt Barnaby’s desire, but I do feel the need to reiterate what Pen all but indicated: any man can get an erection, by a woman. Or a monkey, if he’s rub the right way. Comments.yep, you're so right about that. And is he 13? He can help but be that way around her? I may not look exactly like I did when I was 17, but my Hubs isn't hard everytime I'm near him. Hmmmm, maybe I have a defective Hubs cause most romance heroes are that way....

I believe she's 24, and she lied and said 28 to Barnaby's guy. I am most definitely over SL's use of this. I don't so much mind when other authors use it. In fact, I don't know that I notice. I guess it's the fact that SL uses it so often.

I vote for Pen getting knocked up! It would serve her right. She was a little overly dramatic with the whole coshing him on the head bit

18. Yes, you all are right; I’m enjoying Stokes and Griselda’s story; I’m hoping we don’t see their “primitive nature.” Comments. at this point I am liking them better.

#15 – No, that RomanceLandia for you.

#16 – Ah! Just a lie. Yes, I’m a little more forgiving with other authors. Plus, SL uses it is the same way, same approach each time.

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Finished this last night. All I can say is thank God they went back to focusing on the mystery. I did like the mystery.

I loved the Griselda and Stokes got married and had Pen and Barnaby stand up for them :)

message 112: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I still haven't gotten back to this book. And I don't even remember who the bad guy is (I've read it before). But, since Susan says they get back to the mystery, I'll try and get to it today.

How come I finished 3 other books but still stuck in Penelope's passion awakening lesson?

Because it seems we are all over the awakening passion lessons lol keep reading. There aren't really lessons like we are use to and it goes back to the mystery.

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments The ending in this one was a bit different .
I wanted to see more of Stokes and Griselda .
I really liked Barnaby but didn't like Penelope ,she was so high handed and rude to everyone.

message 117: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new) - rated it 3 stars

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments I totally agree with you, ShoSho. Barnaby was fine, I had a real problem with Penelope.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments I'm back in the world of the internet-enabled. Dude come and hooked me up, in the dark, in the snow, on a Sunday. I gave him a 10 rating on the follow-up survey :D
I finished, I was happy it was done. I was wanting more Stokes and Griz though! They had one hot smooch and that was that. Was hoping to see more from their side of the story. I have to agree with y'all, Barnaby was fine, his normal, expected self, but Pen was too arrogant and bossy for my tastes. Too 'in control'. I was expecting her to be a bit of a bluestocking, but she blew me away with her attitude and stuff. Not how I was expecting her to be based on our few previous glimpses of her character in other stories.
Lisa Kay, lmao at your repetitive responses xD
