#1 – True. For being “investigators and deduction” people, they’re a bit clueless on what the electricity of their touch means.

#2 – Yes, I like that about him, too. I figure he going to wait to choose his battle.

#3 – I’m leaning toward agreeing with you; especially given the era. I’m giving her some leeway, hoping that she knows these guys really, really well.

#4 – I like both romances equally. Nice that there are two! Though, I know some people don’t like that.

#5 - **giggles**

3. Penelope has TONS of suitors! Do you think she's a bit rude to them? Why do you think they keep coming back to her if she acts like that?
I was surprised by how rude she was. Certainly that sort of behavior would've been frowned upon by polite society back then I would think. Being so rude as to directly tell someone to 'go away'. I don't know why they keep coming back, maybe they like the challenge?
"

I agree with you Kit. Its the reason that I'm not really into Penelope character. Its like she think herself better and smarter than people of the ton, because she does real work with orphanage. Yes she does something good, but its not reason for her to be rude and belittle other people.

I'm liking him so much more than the last few heroes in this series. There for a while they were very cookie cutter types. This is a nice change.

Lol, yea, like three times now she's saw him as 'a dark and dangerous man'. He's not dark! And I can't see him as dangerous or intimidating either.
And oh no. Here we go with the 'lessons' again in regards to the kissing, fondling, etc. Eye roll. And their first sex scene... he noticed her dress had a bunch of black buttons up the front from waist to throat, then the next page, he's undoing laces down the back of the dress! Whoops, SL forgot what dress Pen was wearing! I had to laugh a little.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Lisa Kay’s Questions for Chapter 8 – 11
Sorry for the delay. I wanted to post these at least. I’ll work on Chapters 12 – 14 early in the morning. I’m going to bed now.

7. Sorry, but I cackled and clapped my hands with glee when Barnaby tapped Penelope on the nose, with an evil grin, and told her not Covent Garden flower seller would act like that. **hee hee** And her difficulty with the mussels and whelks. You? I can certainly understand the lurk of being “in the role,” too, can you?

8. I didn’t think Penelope was too smart when she let go of her disguise to talk with Gannon, did you? He’ll surely blab. Comments.

9. So…comments on Penelope’s outburst and Barnaby’s kiss in response? Her little speech about “personal awkwardness”? And Barnaby’s assurance that he would kiss her again?

10. Eep! Someone killed Mrs. Carter. Well, we know they’re desperate for suitable burglar boys, but this seems a little too desperate to me. There have to be plenty of boys that age who are quick-witted and reasonably healthy in the East End. This seems way too risky on their part, with the authorities and with the locals. And then there was Grimsby’s “job security” response to Jemmie’s question. **rolls eyes along with Kit★**

11. Is it possible that someone else has access to Penelope’s files, too, and it using them for their ill-gotten gains?

12. Oh! There the author goes again with her “primitive nature” prose. **sigh** Good thing Mrs. Keggs showed up, or Pen might have lost her virginity on a desk.

13. What did you think of the Wills boys, Joe and Ned?

14. Will the reward flyer work?

I liked them in disguise, it was fun. The seafood, ew. I don't go for that myself, but I was giggling at her having to accept bites from Barnaby.

8. I didn’t think Penelope was too smart when she let go of her disguise to talk with Gannon, did you? He’ll surely blab. Comments.
For sure! I was like what the heck are you doing!? All that trouble to be disguised and trying to keep the fact that anyone was looking for the boys on the down low, I didn't get why she did that, and why Barnaby didn't get mad about it

9. So…comments on Penelope’s outburst and Barnaby’s kiss in response? Her little speech about “personal awkwardness”? And Barnaby’s assurance that he would kiss her again?
I kinda liked the kiss, and his saying he would do it again. Not as fond of her outburst at him though, she's almost too bossy, lol.

10. Eep! Someone killed Mrs. Carter. Well, we know they’re desperate for suitable burglar boys, but this seems a little too desperate to me. Definitely eye rolling, lol. You would think they could find a boy without having to kill anyone, no problem. And Grimsby's explanation, ha! Though in an economics sort of way, he made some sense, the boys shouldn't believe that it's official. Though of course they would do whatever he says to avoid getting beaten or denied food, etc.

11. Is it possible that someone else has access to Penelope’s files, too, and it using them for their ill-gotten gains?
Y'know, I'm starting to think Mrs. Keggs might have something to do with it.

12. Oh! There the author goes again with her “primitive nature” prose. **sigh** Good thing Mrs. Keggs showed up, or Pen might have lost her virginity on a desk.
Snort at the primitive nature. Lol, cavemen. I was never so glad for an interrupted sex scene before, but I was happy they got interrupted. I want the mystery, not the silly sex right now.

13. What did you think of the Wills boys, Joe and Ned?
I like em, I like em a lot!

14. Will the reward flyer work?
Maybe, all them poor people need money!

I still haven't warm up to her yet.

8. I didn’t think Penelope was too smart when she let go of her disguise to talk with Gannon, did you? He’ll surely blab. Comments.
and now I'm back to not liking Penelope again. She wasn't only risk her safety but endangered the entire mission

9. So…comments on Penelope’s outburst and Barnaby’s kiss in response? Her little speech about “personal awkwardness”? And Barnaby’s assurance that he would kiss her again?
Barnaby certainly know how to make her shut up :)

10. Eep! Someone killed Mrs. Carter. Well, we know they’re desperate for suitable burglar boys, but this seems a little too desperate to me. Yes, I wonder what the significance of volunteered tutor mentioned in earlier chapter.

12. Oh! There the author goes again with her “primitive nature” prose. **sigh** Good thing Mrs. Keggs showed up, or Pen might have lost her virginity on a desk.
I skipped most part of it :D

13. What did you think of the Wills boys, Joe and Ned?

That was a dumb move IMO! I think he will

9. So…comments on Penelope’s outburst and Barnaby’s kiss in response? Her little speech about “personal awkwardness”? And Barnaby’s assurance that he would kiss her again?
He has already decided she'll be his wife so he sees it as his right to kiss her

11. Is it possible that someone else has access to Penelope’s files, too, and it using them for their ill-gotten gains?
I thought about that too but it's unlikely ,Grimsby gets his info another way .I don't think Grimsby know about the orphanage at all , he wouldn't have gone for these boys

12. Oh! There the author goes again with her “primitive nature” prose. **sigh** Good thing Mrs. Keggs showed up, or Pen might have lost her virginity on a desk.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Lisa Kay’s Questions for Chapter 12 – 14
Sorry… I was bad; another book caught my interest.

15. I don’t doubt Barnaby’s desire, but I do feel the need to reiterate what Pen all but indicated: any man can get an erection, by a woman. Or a monkey, if he’s rub the right way. Comments.

16. Here we go with the seeking “knowledge” thing and her sexuality. What is she, thirteen instead of 24 or 28 (I’ve seen both these ages stated)? And he’s thrilled. So, this is a tired plot of LS, but does it also ruin it for you when another author uses it, or do you make allowances for them?

17. What did you think of her ruse and the cosh on the head? A little drastic, don’t you think? She could have been hurt. I did giggle over Barnaby envying Luc being proposed to. LOL! He should knock Pen up and keep her on tenterhooks wondering if he’ll marry her; that would be a change from the normal plotline.

18. Yes, you all are right; I’m enjoying Stokes and Griselda’s story; I’m hoping we don’t see their “primitive nature.” Comments.
