One of the best sites for getting people to read your work is: http://authonomy.com. It's a Harper Collins site. The best way to get reads is to offer people there "read swaps." Also check into a local writers group that meets regularly. I meet with a group here in Pittsburgh weekly. Check Meetup.com or just google "Writers groups" in your area.

Please feel free to call me Ez. I'm a young woman from Australia, and instead of sleeping I'm introducing myself to you fine people.
I've been into writing ever since 14, and reading ever since I can remember. At the moment I'm working on a steampunk/dystopic/AU plot......and it's really hard to come up with ideas/goals for it...

Thank you so much! That looks like it will be a great resource :)

My name is George. I'm new to this group, but I've been on Goodreads for a couple of years. I look forward to meeting new people and reading what everyone has to offer. Thank you for letting me join your group.
Hi, George! It's great to have you here! I look forward to reading your work. What genre do you usually write?

Hello! I'm new too. I'm 19 and on my last year in college. I like reading thrillers, contemporary novels, and romance, not much YA (don't hate me pls lol). Anyway, I hope to make friends around here, fellow aspiring writers. Good day! ;)

I'm an avid reader as well, but primarily trying to get motivated to write at the minute! Anyway I look forward to getting to know you all, and hopefully giving and getting some feedback.

Hi, Juli. What exactly is urban fantasy?

Hi Sofia,
Thanks for your message. Well at the moment the Open University (who I'm doing the creative writing course with) steer us away from genre fiction and towards character driven stories, so the stuff I'm reading and writing is centered around the character and staying well away from genre. It was a bit frustrating at first that I couldn't write a story around something like a crime or sci-fi plot, but I'm used to it now!
To be honest though all the books I love are really focused on the character, so at the minute I'm trying to read mostly contemporary fiction. I am however reading a crime novel at the minute, and I love a good sci-fi.
By the way, hi Michael! What do you read/write?
Sofia: Hi. Thanks. I'm excited to share too! :D
Holly: Hi! Welcome! :) I like contemporary fiction too. Anyway, good luck on the creative writing course. Are you currently working on a story? :)

I'm covering memoir writing as part of my Open University course, so just about to start a 1500 word story for that. It should be easy enough to write as I became ill in 2007 with M.S, so have plenty of material!

Holly: Oh wow. I hope you're all better now :) and I look forward to seeing your work. Good luck! :)
Amy: Hello. Please do share some of your works. Children's literature can be comforting to read sometimes. :) And I like your name. It reminds me of the character in The Big Bang Theory (sorry for being random).

Hi Amelie! I also write YA fantasy! Looking forward to perhaps discussing writerly things with you. :)

Hey, Diana! It's great to have you here! I'm looking forward to reading your work! On here you can share your stories and receive feedback or simply connect with other writers (or both, of course). We have a lot of resources to help writers struggling with a paragraph or a plot point and of course you can check out our writing challenges.

In what genre do you write?

Thank you. I look forward to interacting with everyone here. As for genre…I couldn't really pigeon hole it. I guess, romance would me the common theme although I just finished a short for submission to "The First Line" that is fantasy. It really varies. I just write and hope someone else can figure out where it belongs. LOL.

Hi Ashley! Would love to read your work. I love to indulge (reading and writing; mostly writing these days) in FanFiction when time permits!

I haven't wrote a lot but what I have is on AO3. :) You can find me under the name inunokanojo on there. I also have a deviantart- inunokanojo.deviantart.com and a y-gallery with my stuff posted as well.

"Hello, I'm new." (:
Hello newbies! Welcome! It's great to have you here and I hope you have lots of fun. Mr, Cherie, in what genre do you write?

I'm new to the group and I'm a huge fan of fantasy, Sci-fi, horror, and thrillers. Those are my main favorites, but I'm open to other genres as well, so any recommendations are welcome.
I'm also going through quite a lot of ideas to see which will make a great book. I'll put up some of my ideas up soon to get some advice on which ones you like.

Anyway, I love to write, and read, of course, and I just moved to Florida (from Colorado) a few months ago. It's weird but I think I like it :)
