I have been told (but don't know) that you have to have at least 5 books in the same genre in order to establish a following, and until you get a following you won't get a lot of sales.

I went to Amazon to see the reviews. The first seven for Shattered are rather negative with "37 of 41 people found the following review helpful" on the very first negative review. That might be it.

its a difficult if not impossible thing to determine. My latest book, Complicit Witness, sold well for a month and efforts to promote have had spotty results I will say though in your case i think this is a short story type thing, if so pricing and approach may need special consideration
