Whilst everyone is welcome to post their thoughts on here, we do have some rules which you need to read, understand, and comply with.
The Moderators reserve the right to delete any post they deem inappropriate. Below is an explanation of when we will delete:-
1. WITHOUT NOTICE TO THE POSTER
a. Spam
b. Troll posts
c. Author self-promotion of books
d. Racist comments/abuse
e. Explicit sexual content
f. Sexist abuse
g. Swearing
The exceptions to these rules will be where you are quoting from a published book which is currently in discussion on Book Vipers.
Initially, you will receive a notification from the Moderators asking you to remove your post but, if you refuse or neglect to do so within 24 hours' of the Moderators' request, we will remove it and you will receive a further explanation as to why your post has been deleted.
2. DELETIONS WITH NOTICE TO THE POSTER
In any other circumstances, if the Moderators receive a complaint about a post then we will remove it, temporarily into a holding file on the Moderators Group, pending discussion by the Moderators. You will have the right to ask the Moderators for an explanation, but you must accept that the Moderators' decision is final if we deem that it must be deleted.
Anything which goes against the https://www.goodreads.com/about/terms and brings The Book Vipers into disrepute, we will ask you to delete and, if you do not do so, the Moderators will remove the post.
Any personal attacks on other members of Book Vipers or personal attacks on authors (which fall outside critical discussion of their work) may be deleted by the Moderators without notice to the poster.
Deleting posts is not an action the Moderators take lightly, but you must accept our final decision.
The Moderators reserve the right to ban any member who persistently ignores the rules.
If you have any complaints about a post, you may address them by private message, to Elizabeth, who is our nominated Moderator for receiving complaints. Your complaint will be copied onto the Moderators Group for discussion by all of the Moderators, before a decision is sent to you.
If you are still unhappy with the content of a post you have the right to flag it for the attention of the Goodreads staff (not Book Vipers Moderators). This link tells you more about the flagging procedure https://www.goodreads.com/help/search...
