Have you seen any other either tv shows or movies which reminded you of Downton Abbey?
I´ve recently watched "The Village" which was supposed to have "all the finesse of Downton" but, was left quite shocked after seeing it! The Village follows life of people living in a village around the year 1914-1920. It is definitely more realistic than DA, and a lot harsher. I´ve read a lot of comments saying things like: "After a long and tiring day, I don´t need another downer like The Village." Have you seen The Village?
I have not, I will watch for it. Have you seen this BBC news article which explains some dangers of life then, another side to Downton? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-25259505
Dr Suzannah Lipscomb teaches at the New College of The Humanities. She presents Hidden Killers: The Victorian Home, on Tuesday 10 December at 21:00 GMT on BBC 4. A TV show tonight about this!
