Students will learn topics of plane and solid geometry, including properties of triangles, quadrilaterals, circles. Surface area and volume of solids are studied. Logic and deductive proof will be emphasized; also algebraic connections and calculations are reviewed. Applications and problem-solving are constantly woven through the curriculum. Proofs are emphasized in the first semester, and probability and logic are examined in some depth. This course will prepare students for Algebra 2/Trigonometry.
