Tammie (tjdavishud) | 2 comments This was a good beach read about a woman who has inherited a beach house from her grandmother and returns to the place she grew up. Of course she finds romance, but she is also escaping from a bad marriage. She befriends a gay guy and his old mother. The husband catchs up with her. I believe she also has a teenaged daughter. Sound familiar?

Danielle (ielfling) | 14 comments Sounds like Anne Rivers Siddons to me; maybe Low Country? I might be getting the wrong book of hers due to the Low Country connection but I've read at least one book of hers that sounds similar.

Tammie (tjdavishud) | 2 comments No, that was not the book, but thankyou so much, for in researching that one on Amazon, I found the one I was looking for. It's called 'Sullivan's Island' by Dorothea Benton Frank. Without your suggestion, I would not have found and remembered it. Also, I believe you turned me on to a new author I will probably enjoy.

Danielle (ielfling) | 14 comments Hey, cool! And I will check out Sullivan's Island sometime :)

I really enjoy Anne Rivers Siddons when I'm in the mood for them. Her plots tend to run to a formula but the settings are interesting (and for me, exotic) and I love reading about people taking the reins of their lives and turning things around.

So glad you found your book!
