Across the water, across the land,
I seen ev'ry blue eyed floozy on the way, hey
But their beauty and their style
Went kind of smooth after a while.
I never will forget those nights
I wonder if it was a dream
Remember how you made me crazy?
Remember how I made you scream?
Now I don't understand
what's happened to our love,
But babe I'm gonna get you back
I'm gonna show you what I'm made of
I wonder if it was a dream
Remember how you made me crazy?
Remember how I made you scream?
Now I don't understand
what's happened to our love,
But babe I'm gonna get you back
I'm gonna show you what I'm made of
Danger in the shape of something wild,
Stranger dressed in black she's a hungry child.
No-one knows who she is or what her name is.
I don't know where she came from or what her game is.

Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few

So do james caan, kirk douglas, and the late dinah shore-ah
Guess who eats together at the karnickey deli,
Bowzer from sha-na-na, and arthur fonzerrelli.

And they're moving across the page
Suddenly the day turns into night
Far away from the city
Oh, how you tried
to cut me down to size
Tellin' dirty lies to my friends
But my own father
said "Give her up, don't bother
The world isn't comin' to an end"

Let it hang down on me (Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
Sloopy, let your hair down, girl
Let it hang down on me, yeah, yeah (Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
I really can't stay
I've got to go away
This evening has been
So very nice
My mother will start to worry
And father will be pacing the floor

The spotlight's hitting something

We'll kill the fatted calf tonight
wow I never even knew those words were in the Bennie and the Jets song. each Elton John song starts out with me understanding him and by the end I have no idea what he's saying.

I run to the rock, please hide me
I run to the rock, please hide me, Lord

I didn't know those were the lyrics to Bennie and the Jets either..."
OK, so what song is it? I got Bennie and the Jets when I Googled the lyrics."
Oh it is Bennie and the Jets, just didn't know those were the lyrics to the song. Guess I never quite made out the lyrics when listening to it. :)

You were perverted too
I don't know how you were inverted
No one alerted you
They say the danger's gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight
Burning into the night.
