As per here we do not replace covers of previously published works but instead add an alternate-cover edition (ACE). Once that is done you will then be able to select which cover shows as default on your author profile.

Others should NOT be getting covers changed. Covers are changed when the book was NEVER released with that cover (including no advance copies issued with it), or when an incorrect cover is accidentally uploaded. Free or for-profit has nothing to do with the policy, nor target audience.
In all other situations, a new record is created with the new cover and all other data EXCEPT the ISBN/ASIN - the ACE that Susie mentions above. This new edition is added to the 'pile' of records for that title ("combining"). Once this is done the author can set an edition with the new cover as Primary, which means that the new cover will show first in searches etc.
If you check through the topics under this folder, in most cases the covers aren't replaced but an ACE is added, as both I and Emy have said.It is nothing personal - just policy.
How do I get the alternate cover uploaded?
Please use the cover at http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blog...as the ACE and let me know how to indicate this is the preferred cover..

Rosalee, has the ISBN changed, or is that a new cover with the same ISBN as the old cover edition?

Re 17, the only version with a new cover I could see was the kindle edition, which did not need an ACE because no entry for it existed on Goodreads before. I added it as a regular edition:https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
I didn't see that cover available in paperback, but if you are reissuing the paperback with that new cover and the same ISBN, let me know so I can make the ACE.

Hello! Is the ACE for your paperback or for an ebook? I checked the kindle version of the book and the cover is the same as the paperback.
The new cover is for the Kindle ebook (new cover is still in the works for paperback, coming shortly). The changes for the ebook haven't gone live on Amazon yet, but they should appear in a few hours (they've already been approved, it moved out of review and into publishing).I just received the new cover today.

How do I get a librarian to do an ACE for my book? My publisher changed my cover. I put the new cover up when I added the print version, but the old cover is still there for the ebook

@brie I already created a new entry for the ACE. The image is fine on the entry's page. But when you switch to a different edition a thumbnail image doesn't show. I'll check it again later. It might be a page problem.

Hi, I think I'm in the right place. Sorry if I'm not. I uploaded a photo for my book, which hasn't been released yet. However, it wasn't the official cover, just a filler until I got the cover. I was just trying to delete it because I'll have my cover soon, but they are saying I have to be a Goodreads librarian to do that. So if I get my cover and upload it here as just an alternate photo, can I somehow make it to where it will be the main photo? Or will I have to get someone to that for me?Thanks!

To set the new cover as the default edition, follow these instructions:
1) Navigate to the book's page. Be sure you have selected the edition you wish to become the default (primary) edition.
2) Click "edit details" below the book's description.
3) On the right side of the page, click "Set this book as the primary edition for this work". It's about midway down the page.
Only Goodreads Authors can set the default edition at this time.
I was able to make kindle editions because I found it on Amazon and used their ASIN. If you have other ebook editions available, can you provide the ISBN? THen I can update those records accordingly and make an ACE version with the new cover for the ebook edition.
