"Exact Words: A historian is forced to load Berserker fighters with human engrams that will serve as decoys for the Berserker-piloted craft. When questioned whether the engrams are warlike, he points to one who was turned away from the military for being half blind, another who was a mild-mannered poet, and a third who did serve in the army as a behind-the-scenes supply officer. Turns out he's talking about [Ace Pilot]."
Hmm, no name on that second suggestion. Checking that webpage now. Yeah, 'exact words' is the trope on tv tropes that that story hits - not the actual name of the story. But yes, that's the correct story. I just need to know its title/name.The first suggestion, is of course, right on target. An aside, Saberhagen was an encyclopedia editor for awhile, which is probably where the germ of this idea came from :D

So, I've read these two stories, and I've been online, and found *lists* of the names of all of the Beserker short stories, but no descriptions of *which* story is which. Arggh.
