I think Curley's wife doesn't have a name because she is the only female living in a male dominated world. They don't see her as an individual but an object. Many of the men objectify her only looking at her beauty but also they know that she is dangerous and can cost them their jobs so perhaps that is another reason why she is not named.
The possessive apostrophe is telling, too, she belongs to Curley and that must be remembered at all times. I wonder what life was like for her on the ranch?
I think that life would have been awful for her on the ranch. She was very lonely and the other men didn't want to talk to her out of fear of Curley. They knew he was a hot head who liked to fight and show his strength. I don't even think Curley loved her all that much she was just an object that boosted his status. I think her loneliness increased her flirtatious nature as she was so desperate for company she went to extreme means to try and persuade the other men to talk.
