Natalie Joy (yoyoma30) | 48 comments Another HP fan told me today that J.K. Rowling said in an interview that both George Weasley and Draco Malfoy never had enough happiness again to perform a patronus. Apparently they were both heartbroken, George by the loss of Fred and Draco because his parents hated him. Has anyone else heard this?

Prashamsa (crushy) | 168 comments I don't understand why and when did Draco's parents hate him? I heard about George not being able to conjure a patronus though.

I don't think JKR has said anything like this in interviews. I've seen the bit about George not being able to conjure a patronus online, but the information doesn't seem to come from JKR (there's never any source given). I think JKR only said that she didn't think "George would ever get over losing Fred," (http://www.mugglenet.com/jkr/intervie...) and it seems some people took that to mean that he wouldn't be able to produce a patronus.

I haven't heard anything about Draco's parents hating him before - I don't think it makes much sense. (According to JKR, Draco didn't know how to produce a patronus by the end of HBP, but as far as I know, she hasn't said anything about his patronus later on.)
