Deep My choices... (a few)

Lan: Christian Bale
Moiraine: Amy Lee (though not an actor)
Nynaeve: Angelina Jolie
Min: Ellen Page
Elayne: Emma Roberts
Egwene: Emma Watson

Heather Lan: Sean Bean
Moiraine: Gong Li
Nynaeve: Natalie Portman
Elayne: Jennifer Lawrence
Egwene: Emma Watson (agree with you)
Rand: Kai James (only 20 year old actor I could think of with red hair)
Mat: Logan Lerman
Perrin: Josh Hutcherson

Leah Lan: Sean Bean (no other choice would work)
Perrin: Josh Hutcherson (I like that)
Min: Ellen Page (I can see that)
Rand: Henry Cavill
Elayne: Amy Adams
Egwene: Anna Kendrick

Roland Boykin Mat: definitely Johnny Depp
Perrin: maybe 'the Rock' with hair
Egwene: I also like Emma Watson
Nynaeve: Angelina Jolie is to tall, Like Natalie Portman better
Lan: I agree with Sean Bean

Deep Maybe after watching Equilibrium some of you guys switch from Sean Bean to Christian Bale.

Leah I have seen the movie Equilibrium and as much as I love Christian Bale I would still choose Sean Bean for Lan over him. I don't know what it is but even when he bulked up for the Batman movies he just seems too wiry.

Leah Liam Hemsworth might make a good Rand.

Teresa Johnny Depp is way too old, so are Henry Cavill and Amy Adams.

Lan: Sean Bean (I agree. He can carry off the chisled look well, I think.)
Moiraine: Tamala Jones
Rand: Sean McGowan (If he could pull off the "country bumpkin" routine. Not sure if he's too old.)
Mat: Asher Monroe
Perrin: Josh Hutcherson might work, if he can bulk up enough.
Faile: Yunjin Kim
Egwene: Emma Watson
Nynaeve: Anna Kendrick
Elayne: Molly Quinn
Aviendha: Zoe Saldana

Heather I like Sean McGowan as Rand, actually. I'm switching my answer lol. I disagree with Zoe Saldana- Aviendha is supposed to be redhead.

Teresa Heather wrote: " I disagree with Zoe Saldana- Aviendha is supposed to be redhead."

That's true. I was thinking more of someone with darker skin. It's hard to have more of a latino skin type with red hair.

Deep I like Zoe Saldana as Aviendha. A touch of arrogance in the face, perfect. And hair color is something that can be taken care of easily.
But as a redhead she might not look as beautiful. But then again, there's always this much of space for exceptions.

Leah Sean McGowen is the same age as Henry Cavill. So if Henry Cavill is too old, Sean McGowen is too old. I have to disagree with Anna Kendrick for Nyneave. Nyneave is older then the rest of the characters, at least in her late twenties early thirties while the rest are late teens early twenties. Thats why Anna Kendrick was my pick for Egwene cause she plays young. I also feel like Amy Adams could pull off playing young. Idk. I also have to say no to Zoe Saldana as Aviendha. Only because based on Robert Jordan's description of the Aiel I imagined them looking more Native American then African American. Am I the only one that came to that conclusion?

Teresa While McGowen and Cavill may actually be the same age, I think that McGowen might have more success in playing younger, but I was unsure of that. I didn't read Nyneave as being that much older than the rest of the characters. My ideas were that she was at most 5 years older than the others. Amy Adams is just too sweet looking, in my opinion. For Aviendha, I was looking at Latina actresses. Saldana showed up on the list. She does seem a little darker than I had originally thought the Aiel were, but there have got to be variations...

Leah Yes that is true. There is going to be variations. I think I was just taken off gaurd cause Zoe Saldana is just way different then anything I was thinking. And probably cause I don't particularly like Zoe Saldana. I don't know why I don't like her. I can't really explain it other then there is something about her that rubs me the wrong way. But I'm glad you picked her, it was interesting and it got me thinking.

Leah Some more of my picks:

Mat: Tom Hiddleston
Nyneave: Evangaline Lily
Aviendha: Andrea Gabriel
Logain: Benedict Cumberbatch
Galad: Chris Pine

Billy Hutsell I think I would disagree with Sean Bean as Lan. Actually I think that this type of movie would be a perfect role for unknown actors.

Deep @Bill, you wrote "..I think that this type of movie would be a perfect role for unknown actors. "
There's always that, yes.

Deep Moiraine...
Moiraine_Amy_Lee

Teresa Who is that?

Teresa Leah wrote: "Some more of my picks:

I think Cumberbatch might be better for Mazrim Taim. I don't think Chris Pine is pretty enough for Galad. Maybe for Gawyn? Lily might be able to do Nyneave. If she gained some wait and rounded out her face she would look a little younger. I can see Gabriel as Aviendha.

Some good choices there.

message 21: by Deep (new) - rated it 4 stars

Deep @Teresa, Amy Lee (Evanescence)

message 22: by Leah (new) - rated it 5 stars

Leah Moraine: Sarah Brightman. She is actually a singer not an actor but I saw her in one movie and I really liked her.

Andreas Thaler I read a quite detailed discussion on this once on another forum ... what I remember from there (and liked) was Alexander Skarsgard as Rand.
