I literally just finished 'Ever' by Gail Carson Levine. It was fairly good, a little odd, but the romance was really cute. A tinge stereotypical, but the plot line was very different.

Ikr. I noticed that in the Bloodlines series, the ULTIMATE cliffhanger is in the fourth book, too.
The cliff hanger in VA isn't too much of a cliffhanger tho...but its not a happy ending like in the previous books
