Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments The part where we get to admire the muscle-y tanned and extremely hairy Tom Hanks standing on a rock in the lagoon, Larry.

message 52: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Ah. That kind of ludicrous.

message 53: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments but, this list was for top earners. remember, for a brief time Earnest was on this list so i don't think we are talking good acting, know whut i mean?

message 54: by Jessica (last edited Jun 15, 2009 11:03AM) (new)

Jessica (jesstrea) true, but we were (I was, anyway) responding to who deserved to be on that list but wasn't...

Jessica (jesstrea) Larry wrote: "Ah. That kind of ludicrous."

I thought the ending was ludicrous.

but then I don't go in for that sort of fairytale ending in movies

message 56: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I think I deserve to be on that list. But that probably doesn't matter.

message 57: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments yah, that is why Cinderella sucked

message 58: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 777 comments I admire actors that disappear into the role. Johnny Depp and many others do that. Actors that are just the same character in different settings aren't half as talented as the ones who can play all different roles and I find myself watching the character, not the actor playing the character.

message 59: by Julie (new)

Julie | 568 comments I am liking Anna Paquin in True Blood.
I have liked her in a lot of things before as well.

And although I don't know if I love her as an actress overall, but as a kid I thought Kirsten Dunst was great in Interview with a Vampire.
The movie itself was not so great.
Oh, and when they made Queen of the Damned, they really jumped the shark.
It was like they meant for it to be funny.

message 60: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Anna's pretty hot in that role.

message 61: by Julie (new)

Julie | 568 comments I really like that it's set in Louisiana.
When was the last good tv series set in the south?

message 62: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) In the Heat of the Night?

message 63: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments True Blood is on sale for 24 bucks at Target. I'm tempted.

message 64: by Julie (new)

Julie | 568 comments Have you watched it already?

message 65: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments No. I don't get HBO. But I hear good things. Should I buy it, Julie?

message 66: by Usako (new)

Usako (bbmeltdown) TB I got off iTunes. It was interesting. I will say every episode has a smex scene.

message 67: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Smex? Heh. Does your computer block that word or something, Tanja?

message 68: by Usako (new)

Usako (bbmeltdown) Naw. I like to say smex. It's funny.

message 69: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (jesstrea) sounds sexier, smexier?

message 70: by Usako (new)

Usako (bbmeltdown) Sounds lucious ;)

message 71: by Julie (new)

Julie | 568 comments I bought it without having seen it first cause I read the books.
But I really like it and would suggest you get it, RA.
Crazy Vampire smex.
Who could ask for more?

message 72: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Any relation to Smax by Alan Moore ?

message 73: by Usako (new)

Usako (bbmeltdown) Aahaha Sarah Pi ^.^

Definite crazy vampire smex. The main character's brother's experiences - geez!

Amusing part the girl and Bill the vampire IRL date.

message 74: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (buckythecat) I have a fierce and unreasonable hatred of Scarlett Johansson.

message 75: by Usako (new)

Usako (bbmeltdown) Scarlett Johansson is a hit or miss with me. Perhaps because the roles I've sene her in are the same - quiet, soft and pretty girl.

There were a few times she reminded me of Julia Stiles.

message 76: by Matthieu (new)

Matthieu | 1009 comments That's because you're intelligent, Vanessa. Scarlett... is nothing.

message 77: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (buckythecat) I just read above. I think my office mate knows I'm not really working since I nearly spit out iced tea when I read "smex." I also love True Blood. I can't help it. The teenager in me loves vampires and the all of me has always loved Louisiana.

message 78: by Usako (new)

Usako (bbmeltdown) Ahahaha! SCORE ON THE SMEX!! Now order a bloody SMEXY Mary ;)

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I liked Scarlett a lot when she was on SNL, selling "Mawble Cahlums".
You gotta get yourself some marble columns!

message 80: by Lori (new)

Lori I like Scarlett.

message 81: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Tanja wrote: "Sounds lucious ;)"

Tex smex?

message 82: by Richard (new)

Richard | 347 comments We all know where Johnny is, Mrs. Alvarado, but he made us promise not to tell you, because he's scared of Mr. Alvarado.

message 83: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Welcome to TC, Mrs. Alvarado!

Tom Waits and Crispin Glover catch my attention in films.

message 84: by Usako (new)

Usako (bbmeltdown) Larry: That's a big bowl of tex smex. Gotta remember everything in Texas is BIG! Even the belt buckles!

I really do wonder what the list is based on - earnings this year, earnings in the past decade, box officer earnings only, earnings during their entire film careers??
