Tytti | 173 comments Hi,

I created this series https://www.goodreads.com/series/1163... and added the books to it but for some reason it doesn't show on her profile. I wonder what is the problem...

Z-squared | 8575 comments You didn't have any of them checked as a primary work. I don't know why, but that was preventing it from appearing. Should be OK now. It might take awhile to be visible on the author's page, since series are so heavily cached, but if you click on "Series by..." you'll see it's now there.

Robin (ukamerican) | 106 comments Probably just a caching issue, give it time and it will appear when the system catches up. It shows up on the author's series page: https://www.goodreads.com/series/list...

Z-squared | 8575 comments No, Tytti was right, it wasn't even appearing on the author's series list. I didn't know a primary work was a prerequisite for a valid series, but there you go.

Actually I am not sure about this. I think it was chosen but I tried different things to make it show. Also I created this series already some time ago, so I am not sure about the caching issue either. The other series showed up immediately... Well, I'll keep an eye on it.

It's not necessarily a prerequisite for a series to be valid, but it is for the parser to recognize it as belonging on the author's page.

Tytti | 173 comments Good to know. But for some reason it still doesn't show. You have to go to the series page for that (but how many will?). And she has only two series, many others have more.

As was mentioned above, that is almost certainly a caching issue and should correct itself in a day or two.

Todd (nerdytodd) I am new to the whole "librarian status" so I am still learning how to fix stuff.

I have noticed some series' with the same issue as above (they are missing from author page) and would like to fix them. Some of the books are on the author page, but are boxsets, and yet most of the series is missing. For example, the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, isn't listed in his profile. Other (incomplete or other language) versions of the series are on his page, but not the main list for his biggest series. I read above that you have to list the books as primary work for this to be true but that is not an option I can find in either series-edit, nor in book-edit.

A more experienced librarian may know more about this?? please advise.
