Hopefully, I have placed this in the right section of the forum - if not - I do not mean to offend.
I enjoy reading, but I also write in my spare time. I am looking for a couple of Beta-readers for my new book, The Coin of Zeus - Bloodlines. The book is written for an audience age 8 and up, with roughly 120k words.
Currently, CoZ is with three Beta-readers. All three are friends. They seem to like it, but I am looking for more "untainted" feedback.
Chapter-by-chapter feedback with comments would rock. If you are interested, please reply to this post and/or inbox me.
Oh, English is my second language. Here is a small sample of my writing.
The planned blurb:
The war between the realms ended millennia ago, but, even after all this time, the worlds have not regenerated. They can't. Not as long as the Coin of Zeus is out there, lost, waiting to fulfill its master's will. It is the key to either Utopian peace or complete domination. With the coin still in existence, peacetime is like a prolonged cease-fire that has everybody holding their breath. What nobody knows is that the Light Fae found the coin centuries ago. Too bad nobody is able to wield its power; only Zeus or one of his descendants can do that. The Light Fae have dispatched a Guardian to Earth to keep an eye on the coin, but after one lifetime his magic is spent. He was a renegade on Earth and broke the absolute law of the realms - he intermingled with his charge and even produced an offspring. The Fae are quite happy that he has to return to Faerline, where they can control him. But, destiny blazes its own trail, and what must come to pass, shall come to pass. Prophecies have long foretold the coming of The One. Legend has it that he will be able to wield the coin and unite the realms, but not even the Light Fae would have been so bold as to guess that Gabe, the bastard grandson of the Guardian, could be The One. The moment that he and his friends find the coin stashed in grandma's attic, it's magic is activated. Alerted to its presence, everybody is trying to get their hands, claws or paws on the coin. Everything has changed, and knowing who to trust is a matter of life and death.
