s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» | 1149 comments List of Wands (only complete/approved characters)

Nikolaos Ambrosios Shachor Zosimos (Nikos)
Walnut | Dragon Heartstring | 13 Inches | Reasonably Springy
Nikos's wand is a handsome, dark brown color with a smooth finish worn from years of use. It is plain and unadorned, except for two small rings scored about five and a half inches from the base, designating a handle. The wand is relatively willing to change and adapt, and learns more quickly than most wands, despite the occasional temper-tantrum. It is a powerful tool, rightfully paired up with a powerful man. It prefers to perform powerful, flamboyant spells over domestic tasks. It was the fourth wand young Nikos tried at the wand shop in preparation for his first year at Hogwarts. The wand chose him for his high level of intelligence, ability to change, and vast potential. With rare exception, it will perform any task put upon it by Nikos.

Evelina Roza Brigitte Bajenaru (Eve)
Apple | Fairy Wing | 15 Inches | Bendy
This wand was the sixteenth wand that Evelina attempted to use when she was eleven, but it seems to have been worth the wait, as it is almost perfect for her. She bonded to it when she was fourteen—really quite young. It has a slight pink hue from the applewood, and it has a very intricately carved handle, almost representing her personality in it's length and design complexity. The handle has leaves around the top and bottom, and a metal piece with swirls etched into it that she holds. The wood of the wand is from an apple tree, and wands made with this wood are often good at charms, and with communications between other species. Evelina's wand seems to be almost made for charms, with the apple wood and fairy wing core. Fairy wings, when used as a core are often good at charms, and this suits Eve's good-natured personality.

Aurelia Vita Takata (Aura)
Laurel | Diricawl Feather | 8 Inches | Stiff
Aurelia's particular wand was only the twentieth one she tried, and though she tried to use another ten after that, it was the only one that seemed to work for her. It is very simplistic in it's appearance, completely unadorned spare for a slightly defined handle. It suits her seemingly quiet, shy personality quite well in it's design, and it is very stiff, almost seeming to represent how little she'll change her opinion about things. Laurel may seem like a strange wood for such a shy person, but the wand was drawn to her hidden personality. A diricrawl feather wand often aids invisibility spells, apparition and disillusionment charms, fitting her tendency to blend into the background.

Kathrynn Edwina Åkerstedt-Swanstrom (Kat)
Aspen | Unicorn Hair | 11 Inches | Pliable
It is probably safe to say that Kat chose her wand partly based on its appearance as well as its function: the look of the ivory-esque aspen as well as the lore that surrounds the elitism of this wood were both two very attractive features for the young girl. Yes, the wand is supposed to choose the user but Kat does not believe for even a second that she did not chose it. It was the first wand she tried and the only wand she had her mind set on (of course she had put a great deal of thought into her wand beforehand) when she walked into Ollivander's store. She wanted unicorn hair for its consistency, believing that good spells all of the time outweighs some flashly and marvelous spells some of the time.

David Timothy Parnell (David)
English Oak | Kelpie Hair | 12 Inches | Rather Bendy
David had absolutely no real opinion about what he wanted in a wand, leaving the decision up to Ollivander on the day that he purchased his supplies for Hogwarts. He can't even remember how many he tried before the wandmaker told him that his current wand was the one. Upon discovering that the boy was Irish, Ollivander chose the Kelpie core for David (failing to see the irony of pairing it with an English Oak wood) and David accepted the rich wooden stick gratefully, never having any real complaints about it from the time he was a boy until now.

Julian Fiyero Lazar (Jude)
Cypress | Erkling Darts | 13 Inches | Slightly Bendy
Julian's wand is made out of cypress, a wood often associated with valour and bravery in the wizard owning the wand. And while the superstition of a heroic death may be more than a little creepy to him, at least it's a good way to go out. The wand's core is erkling darts, which is often a good core for people who like being the center of attention, often performers, and they help perform hexes and charms, although they aren't the best with defensive magic—he doesn't like fighting much anyways, and certainly not defensively. This particular wand was the seventh he tried in Diagon alley, and it shot out green sparks when he waved it. He had taken a liking to it's appearance straight away, with the wand's beautiful display of different wood colours. It shows both dark and light shades of brown, making it look even more unique than it already is.The handle of the wand is not exaggerated, it is simply a part of the wood slightly thicker than the rest of the wand, and decorated with engravings in a design of triangles.

Ayden Bernard August (Ayden)
Larch | Dragon Heartstring | 10 Inches | Swishy
This is the twelfth wand tried by Ayden in Diagon Alley; it produced a fountain of red sparks when he waved it. It is a plain, simple wand, a rich golden-brown color with red undertones. Larch wands have a reputation for instilling courage and confidence in their users, but Ayden has yet to witness any proof of that. It is a wand of hidden talents and unexpected effects, much like Ayden himself, who has yet to realize his full potential. It is a powerful wand, having a dragon heartstring core, but also somewhat temperamental and prone to accidents.

Jinx Helicia August (Jinx)
Dogwood | Unicorn Hair and Pixie Egg | 10 Inches | Reasonably Springy
Jinx's wand was the second the wand maker handed her to try. He hit it right on the mark, for she and the wand bonded instantly, demonstrated by the wand sending the wand maker's loose papers lying on the counter by them flying through the air as if by a gust of wind. Jinx laughed and the wand maker simply commented that she and the wand would likely have great adventures together. The appearance of the wand is deceptively simple; it is thicker towards the base, growing narrower to just larger than the circumference at the top, polished smooth, and stained a deep, rich brown. It is playful with a mischievous nature, much like Jinx. While it needs fun and excitement, it is perfectly capable of serious magic, and is much more reliable than one would expect; likely due to the incorporation of unicorn hair in the core. The pixie egg causes the wand to have slight Light leanings, helped along by the unicorn hair; meaning Jinx would have a hard time practicing the Dark Arts if she ever felt inclined to do so. Pixie egg also boosts the wand's ability with Charms and also enables it to cast Peskipiksi Pesternomi, but also indicates that Jinx may be skilled in Care of Magical Creatures. Unfortunately, it is a wand that will never be 'quiet', not that Jinx minds, and is incapable of performing non-verbal spells, though it is a faithful wand, if rather needy.

Evander Nikhil August (Evander)
Elm | Unicorn Hair | 8 3/4 Inches | Stiff
Evander has a very sophisticated wand, made of elm and unicorn hair. It was the fifth wand he tried; the tip of the wand produced a glowing white light as soon as he gripped the ornamented handle. The handle of the light brown wand is signified by a circular bulb enveloping the base of the wand, and then another, slightly smaller one marking the top of the handle portion, expanding less than a pinky's distance the circumference of the wand. As similar to the sphere at the base, this adornment has a thin groove etched into the wand on either side of the almost inner-tube-like bulge. It is a very dependable wand, producing very few accidents yet being capable of performing advanced, elegant charms and spells. It is very dignified and very consistent, just as Evander tries to be.

Cassandra Adrianne Diamant (Casey)
Hawthorn | Hippogriff Feather | 10 Inches | Supple
Casey's wand has a lovely reddish hue with gold embossing along the stick past the handle. Her father was wary about pairing his daughter with hawthorn given its inconsistent nature but Ollivander argued that with the Hippogriff feather core, it was sure to make a good match for a girl with her personality. Casey agreed but really only because she liked the red toned color of the wand and she convinced her father that she could handle its dualistic nature. She has had a bit of trouble with the wand since starting at Hogwarts but nothing to cause severe alarm and Casey feels that she can overcome its "pigheadedness" and master its stubbornness but it sure as hell tries her patience!

Antonio Marcus Vitale (Antonio)
Ebony | Dragon Heartstring | 14 Inches | Unyielding
It is possible that Antonio's love for the color black started when his father bought him his wand. The instrument is a stunning jet black with absolutely no designs on it but polished to such a high degree that even upon close inspection, the wand appears to be made out of obsidian. Dragon heartstring and ebony wood are both key ingredients for performing powerful transmutation spells and this combination certainly helped Antonio obtain his current position(s) at Hogwarts for he was able to showcase quite wonderfully what he was capable of casting. It chose Antonio because it sensed the boy's then uncultured ambition, flamboyancy and keen intellect and although Antonio is now a very goal-oriented and confident man, the wand's unyielding nature no doubt helped to shape the Deputy Headmaster into becoming the powerful individual he is today.

Lorraine Rebecca Lazar (Lori)
Pine | Glumbumble Honey and Hippogriff Feather | 15 Inches | Stiff
Lori's wand is a rather unusual wand, in its blend of cores and even wood. Pine wands are good for being used creatively, and have a tendency to pick wizards or witches destined to live long lives, and it is very sensitive to non-verbal magic. The core of Lori's wand is a blend of hippogriff feather and glumbumble honey. It is a strange blend, because of the glumbumble honey's tendency to enhance all areas of magic, but detract from whatever core it is paired with. However, the hippogriff feather does not enhance any specific area of magic, and in this case, even adds a balancing effect to the wand, demanding respect from Lori. Her wand is fairly long, at fifteen inches, but it fits her showy personality. This wand is actually the second that she has owned. The first wand she got when she was eleven in diagon alley, and had it for two years until it broke, snapped in half during one of her classes. She then got a new wand, trying out more than enough—up to thirty five wands before finding her current one. It is very pretty, the wood is a golden colour and it has two glass balls defining the handle that glow with white light whenever she uses magic.

Olin Tomov (Olin)
Blackthorn | Phoenix Feather | 11 3/4 Inches | Supple
This particular wand was the ninth wand tried by Olin at the tender age of eleven. Just as Olin was about to hand the wand back to the shop owner, the wand shot off golden sparks. Their relationship went unchanged for years, only truly bonding when Olin was nineteen. Blackthorn wands usually must go through some hardship with their owner to become truly bonded, but Olin has yet to relate the details of that story, though he doubtlessly has it written up in a diary somewhere, in spidery, slanted handwriting. The wand saw in him a warrior, capable of great things. It still does. Now that they have fully bonded, it is an incredibly loyal and faithful wand, even if it does occasionally perform magic on its own accord.

Augustine Xardel (August)
Pine | Phoenix Feather | 10 1/8 Inches | Rather Bendy
This wand was the eighth tried by August in Diagon Alley. It is a slender, elegant, simple piece decorated only with a vine engraved into the wood, spiraling towards the tip of the wand from the base. It is a medium, cocoa brown kept in excellent condition by August. It chose August for her individuality and creativity, for she is always on the outside of the group, left to her own devices and to do her own thing. Like a phoenix, she is detached and independent, but content to be so. She has yet to truly gain dominance over her wand, but for now they are a team, working side by side. It is a wand designed for a creative witch or wizard, which is found in August. Pine wands, like this wand, are the most attuned to non-verbal magic, which suits August perfectly.

Bradley Xardel (Bradley)
Red Oak | Dragon Heartstring | 12 Inches | Reasonably Springy
This particular wand was the sixth tried by eleven-year-old Bradley. It is a handsome wand, solely on account of the dark, reddish brown of the wood, which is why it is undecorated. Between the wood and the dragon heartstring core, it is a plenty powerful wand. Given its unusually fast reactions, it comes to no surprise that it's a potent dueling wand. It's taken Bradley some time to bond with his wand—he's had his fair share of accidents—but it's left him a better wizard for it.

Elisabet Eleonora Gunhild Pedersen (Lisbet)
Walnut | Kelpie Hair | 10 3/4 Inches | Unyielding
Lisbet's wand is of a slender, cleanly-cut design, with a graceful handle of ruby-tinged walnut wood carved into the likeness of a simple bloom, complementing the caramel lustre of the rest of the wand. Inside the baton-like shaft is embedded a single kelpie hair, bestowing upon it its temperamental quality. It measures exactly ten and three-quarter inches, precisely. It is positively unyielding in its rigidity and intractability, signifying its master's unwillingness to comply with rules or to follow the "norm". It was the seventeenth wand Lisbet tried out in Ollivander's shop, and it produced a shower of silver sparks when she waved it, prompting a nearby chair to smolder with cyan flames.

Alexa Wong (Alexa)
Sycamore | Erkling Darts | 12 1/2 Inches | Bendy
Alexa's wand is "so, so cool!" as she likes to say when she shows it off. The wood is a pale beige that has been stained a darker color so that it appears almost golden in certain lighting. The carvings that are etched into it loop around the instrument and are painted in multiple colors (her wand was the inspiration for Alexa's current hairstyle). The young girl squealed in exuberant delight when the wand glowed upon coming in contact with the future Ravenclaw, bonding completely with it in her second year at Hogwarts. Alexa dangles ever changing trickets on the edge of the base of the handle which the wand does not seem to mind because it still works perfectly fine when otherwise decorated.

Sage Maggie Roberts (Sage)
Aspen | Fairy Wing | 11 Inches | Unyielding
Sage had a tough time finding the perfect wand. Her father took her to one other wand shop before finding the perfect wand. This wand was the first wand that Sage tried, the others provided reasonable damage to Olivander’s shop. Her wand is a bright brown with a few dings here and there from where she has dropped it, or it flew out of her hand. The body and tip is perfectly smooth, minus the dents, and comes to an elegant, sharp point. Sage has no problem telling you how beautiful she thinks her wand is, but her favorite part is the handle. The handle of the wand is encrusted with gold designs that seem, to her, move whenever she casts a spell. Since her wand is made of Aspen wood, it enhances her charm casting abilities. Also, Aspen paired with the fairy wings, the best core for charms, makes an almost unbeatable charm casting wand.

Nathan Gabriel St. John (Nathan)
Hazel | Graphorn Skin and Kneazle Whisker | 11 1/4 Inches | Quite Rigid
"Graphorn skin and Kneazle whisker?" the incredulous Ollivander had asked when Nathan posed the question to the wand maker. The problem was not that Ollivander did not possess such a wand--he no doubt did--but that the combination requested seemed so... potent. Nevertheless, the man searched and found the item encased in hazel wood. The wand is the color of its leaf namesake and was carved with an intricate knotwork design near the base, where the handle starts as a divider, painted in with silver. "Here you are, young Slytherin," Ollivander had said to Nathan even before he had been sorted into the House. "Give it a try," he told the boy as he placed the instrument in his then small hands. Nathan has never looked back since.

Melissa Bernadette Zielinski (Melly)
Beech | Augurey Tail Feather and Powdered Clabbert Horn | 8 Inches | Supple
It had been years since Ollivander had sold a beech wand and so when the instrument emanated a bright white light from its tip when Melly picked it up, the wandmaker told her that the beech wood had chosen her. Melly had given the old man her knowing smile as she placed the beautifully polished light brown instrument with its pink and white painted designs along the stem back in its box to then purchase from Ollivander. The two cores that made up the rest of the wand set her on the path of Divination and Melly's professor isn't sure whether the wand helps the girl more or the other way around--only Melly knows the answer to this and she has chosen to remain silent on the matter.

Endymius Mercutio Stavanger (Ender)
Cherry | Phoenix Feather | 12 1/2 Inches | Pliable
Descending from a family with a close association with blackthorn wands, the revelation that their only son had been 'cherry picked' had almost led Viridius Stavanger to remove him from Olivander's entirely, but for the elderly wandmaker's observation of its core. Ender had entered the somewhat unprepossessing premises with a feeling of disquiet stirring within him, but all that had been dismissed as though by a patronus as his slender hand closed upon the ascending screw of the warm-coloured wand's handle. 'Now then, now then this is... intriguing...' he could still recall the silver-eyed wandmaster intoning to himself, as he watched attentively, which, as it turned out, proved to be the case; the phoenix whose feather resided at the core turned out to be a particularly trying specimen to procure feathers from, and indeed, only one was managed.

Brendan Joseph O'Brien (Brendan)
Fir | Re'em Blood | 13 Inches | Inflexible
Thirteen seemed to be the lucky number for Brendan the day he purchased his wand at Ollivander's: his instrument was the thirteenth one that he tried which actually responded to the young boy and it was exactly thirteen inches. "The survivor's wand" placed in Brendan's hand was a grained, varnished plain piece, the only designs being that of the etchings already part of the wood. The Re'em blood core works wonderfully with the boy's personality and when he is emotionally charged, it has never failed him. The wand has not completely bonded with the Gryffindor yet, but Brendan has never been one to back down from a challenge and he hopes that in his final year at Hogwarts, they will finally be able to completely work together as one.

Calla Delta Brunelli (Calla)
Cedar | Unicorn Hair | 12 Inches | Unyielding
Calla's wand is of cedar and unicorn hair, which makes for an interesting wand that speaks great lengths about her character. Cedar wands commonly bond to people with a great deal of perception, befitting Calla because she has the sight, the ability to tell prophecies of the future. Cedar wands often also bond to people with hidden inner strength, something which Calla has more than enough of. Unicorn hair is a core that often bonds easily and is very faithful to it's owner. Her wand has a beautiful design, the handle is made of rounded rose quartz, accenting the red colouring in the wood. Other than the stone handle it is very simplistic, without design. It was the fifteenth wand tried by Calla when she was eleven, and just as she was about to give it back to the shop owner it shot blue sparks.

Samarindra Malkavian Sporander (Sam)
Vine | Jobberknoll Down | 10 Inches | Slightly Bendy
The last thing Sam expected upon stepping across the threshold of Ollivander’s, was to have a wand leap out from under a tottering mountain of wands, causing quite a collapse. To her immense relief however, the elderly proprietor was not at all incandescent with rage at the dismantling of the precarious pinnacle. ‘Been putting off reshelving them for ages, that’ll teach me!’ he had chortled gnomishly, wading into the mess and extracting the culprit. ‘Ahh, a vine wand eh, I ought to have guessed!’ Though a little lighter than she had initially anticipated, and encouragingly flexible, Sam was flabbergasted to find out later, the particular qualities held within, and how much they catered to her own unique needs.

Jason Fergus St. John (Jason)
Holly | Ghoul Slime | 10 1/2 Inches | Swishy
Jason's holly wand has been sanded down to an almost pearlescent shade of white, having an appearance of bone upon far inspection. It has a large round knob at the end and carved in rings an inch apart until the handle ends. The wand demands almost as much attention as Jason does, often refusing to work for him unless he has polished it a minimum of once per day. Should Jason even insinuate that he likes another student's wand, his own will simply "shut down" indefinitely (it's been known to stop performing up to one week!) which has caused the young boy to fail an exam or two at Hogwarts. The ghoul slime core has been Jason's nemesis as well as saving grace on more than one occasion because while it has stubbornly refused to act during class, it never refuses to help out in acts of showmanship when surrounded by an audience.

Beatrix Layla Torraine (Trix)
Hazel | Cherub Hair and Phoenix Feather | 11 Inches | Swishy
When Trix got this particular wand, the shop owner didn't even have to pull it out for her to try, he simply moved a box and it shot out, soaring straight by his face and into Trix's open hand. Her reflexes were great even at the age of eleven and she caught it with ease. She liked its appearance immediately as well; it looked showy without being over the top. The wand is thin, and fairly consistent in it's width up until the point, where it quickly narrows into nothing. On the end of the wand the wood loops and then seems to wrap around the base of the handle, and Trix has tied things like her keys onto the loop. Trix fully bonded to the wand at the age of fifteen, the phoenix feather core making it harder to bond with than a normal hazel wand, but it still does perform some unintentional magic. The wand may prove a dangerous weapon when Trix wields it, because hazel as a wand wood will reflect it's owner's emotional state, and while Trix understands her emotions, she is not in control of them, ever. Hazel wands are very unique in the sense that they will often wilt upon their owner's death, because of the strong emotional bond with the user. Hazel wood can also detect concealed water and are generally very powerful wands, at least in the hands of skilled or talented people, which Trix (although she wouldn't say it) most definitely is. Phoenix feather is the rarest of the three supreme cores, and they are capable of the greatest range of magic. The core does have a twin out there somewhere, but Trix doesn't know where it is or whom it belongs to. Phoenix feathers are very picky about potential owners, but this wand came straight to Trix, the wand sensing something in her that it liked. The other core in the wand is cherub hair, which is sometimes used to prove Trix does in fact have a romantic side. This core provides minor boosts to healing, Divination and Charms, especially Glamour Charms, which Trix uses a lot.

Alice Felicia Keenam (Alice)
Chestnut | Mooncalf Blood | 9 Inches | Supple
Alice's chestnut wand is a deep, rich, dark brown that is etched with amber lines (both yellow and green hues) that decorate the instrument in random designs. Ollivander told the young muggle girl that the vein-like lines appeared on the wood once it was fused with the mooncalf blood core, almost as though the very essence of the blood has completely melded into the wand in order to produce the magic that it is capable of in the wielder's hand. Two solid gold rings encircle the instrument that are a centimeter apart from each other, indicating where the handle ends. Alice bonded with her wand in her third year when she took her first Care of Magical Creatures class with Professor Worthington-West.

James Ashton Keenam (Jamie)
Rowan | Crup Tail | 12 3/4 Inches | Pliable
The wand that warmed to Jamie when he was only a boy of eleven is made out of rowan wood with a crup tail core. With a smooth, beige sheen and a bone-like polish, the instrument's handle has been carved into with the stylized, Inuit-esque faces of three different animals: lion, bear and owl. The outlines are stained a slightly darker beige to enhance the contours of the creatures. But apart from the handle, the rest of the wand is plain and unadorned. Because crup tail cores tend to work solely for Hufflepuffs, Ollivander believed that the boy would become one, and the Sorting Hat was indeed ready to put him into that House on his first night at Hogwarts, but something made it decide that Jamie was a Gryffindor instead. The Sorting Hat did not make a mistake for the wand has never failed Jamie and completely bonded with the boy towards the end of his first year.

Caleb Romanovich-Nyström (Caleb)
Walnut | Erumpent Hide | 15 Inches | Stiff
Caleb's wand is an extremely volatile combination and were it not for his mother's consent that he had permission to try it, the instrument would have never been placed in the boy's hand. Aesthetically, it is beautiful, made of fine, rich wood that is tapered at the end and embossed with a darker stain along the handle. Silver metal painted partially with royal blue decorates the instrument where the handle ends as well as at the end of the wand. Caleb's mother was pleasantly surprised to see that it responded to her son's touch by shooting silver sparks in the air when it was placed in his hand and she told Ollivander to wrap it up and bag it. Caleb still struggles to control the wand but he knows that once he has complete authority over it, it will be an instrument well worth its initial trouble.

Valentina Antonesca Romanovna-Nyström (Val)
Cypress | Phoenix Feather and Fire Crab Ash | 14 1/4 Inches | Pliable
The lore of the cypress wood did not detour Val's mother from insisting that her daughter at least try one on the off chance it made a good match--which it did. The light brown wood of the instrument is varnished with a golden, almost burnished hue that changes the shade of its color slightly depending on the lighting. The handle is made of beaten brass that is smooth to the touch and easy to grip. Where the handle ends is a braided ring centered with a dragon's head and two small rubies situated within its eye sockets. Swirls of darker gold paint and amber green decorate the wood of the instrument but the lines are pencil thin and almost imperceptible unless you are the wand holder. Val's touch did indeed cause the cypress to react and Ollivander ensured the young girl that when she bonded with the instrument, they would make a very powerful pair. That was enough for Val's mother to tell the wandmaker that they would take it. With its fire crab ash core (the phoenix feather no doubt helps out as well), it is small wonder Val excels at fire-based spells, making her a sight to behold when she casts them, the light of the flames highlighting her already shockingly beautiful hair.

Harriett Arabesque Finch-Fletcher (Harriett)
Pear | Fwooper Feather and Phoenix Feather | 13 1/2 Inches | Swishy
The pear wood lends a golden tone to the wand and also splendid magical powers. Wielders of pear wands are usually popular and well-respected, which has been true throughout Harriett's life thus far. No one is able to recount an instance where a pear wand has been found in the possession of a Dark witch or wizard, a fact Harriett does not mind. Pear is one of the most resilient wand woods, and to this day, despite having been in use for twenty-three years now, still looks as new as the day Harriett bought it. The Fwooper feather does extremely well with Charms and Care of Magical Creatures, even though its presence makes the wand incapable of casting Quietus. It has been combined, in this instance, with Phoenix feather for health, as Fwooper feather is otherwise rumored to slowly drive the wielder mad. That being said, Harriett is not concerned about it. As she has jokingly told Scott on numerous occasions, "How can it drive me mad when I am crazy already?" Her wand is quite powerful and is capable of a great range of magic, even if it did take Harriett fifteen years to truly bond with the wand. The wand is plain and unadorned. It's beauty lies in the color of the wood, and the way it curves so perfectly at the handle to fit Harriet's hand. This was the eighth wand Harriett tried so many years ago at Ollivander's wand shop in Diagon Alley. The wand emitted a warm, golden light even before Harriett took it in her hand; it was attracted to the woman for her wise, generous spirit, and her warm heart, not to mention her yet-unknown ability concerning Care of Magical Creatures.

Bartholomaeus Auriel Lysamachus Llewelyn (Bart)
Cypress | Streeler Slime and Graphorn Skin | 15 Inches | Supple
Bart most likely had a more difficult time choosing a wand than most others. The Ministry official that took him and his mother to Ollivander's had grown quite impatient after spending three-and-a-half hours in the dingy, claustrophobic shop. Every wand he tried did not suit him in one way or another. After several hours' worth of wand-tantrums, two chipped teeth and a whole lot of singed hair, it was apparent that even Ollivander himself was feeling discouraged. However, plowing on, he presented the dismayed boy with one of the last wands on his shelf, a rather peculiar one crafted of cypress. Immediately, the room seemed to fall silent as a heavenly gold glow shot from the tip of the wand, and bathed the room in a halcyon aura. The boy had found his elusive wand. Rather plain at first sight, its individuality becomes apparent when examined closely. The 15-inch, supple body of the wand is stained a handsome chestnut colour, and gleams with a brilliantly gilt light when held in the sun. The cut of the shaft and grip are simple, with mellifluous lines and delicate curlicues etched into the dark, wine-hinted wood. In the very center is a combined core of graphorn skin and streeler slime, a tribute to Bart's inherent talent in all subjects but Herbology.

Kassidy Silvia Straut (Kassidy)
Redwood | Phoenix Feather | 12 1/3 Inches | Slightly Bendy
Kassidy's wand is a burnished red color—quite similar to that of her hair, in fact—which comes naturally from the redwood wand material. It is of simple design, thin and slightly bendy, a little thicker at the base than the tip. Her wand is an interesting combination of redwood and phoenix feather, as the wandmaker at Ollivander's where she purchased the item remarked. It was the seventeenth wand she tried, and chose Kassidy by releasing a miniature bolt of lightning from the tip, scorching the glass of the counter she stood at. It was attracted to the little red-haired girl for her independence and individuality, evident even at the tender of eleven, and to her ability to land on her feet, capable of turning a catastrophe into a stroke of luck. This particular wand is capable of a great range of magic, though it took Kassidy some time to prove herself able to handle such power. Occasionally the wand will act on its own, but Kassidy doesn't mind; she has her own quirks, after all.

Dillon Anthony Frueuff (Dillon)
Apple | Unicorn Hair and Graphorn Skin | 11 3/4 Inches | Swishy
Dillon didn't quite have the same experience as is sister when finding the perfect wand considering it took him nearly thirty-seven tries. Dillon entered Mr. Ollivander's shop that fateful Sunday grinning ear to ear-he was finally getting his first wand! But no wand was right for him,it seemed, and he was becoming discouraged. By his twentieth try Mr. Ollivander was not feeling too pleased, and neither was Dillon—what if he never found the right match? But, as Mr. Ollivander moved a few boxes—rather dusty ones, at that—a reddish-tinged wand came flying out, and shot right into Dillon's awaiting hand. Letting out a whoop of excitement, Dillon swirled the wand experimentally, and was pleased as a zap of power shot through the thin, tapered tip. The carpet caught fire, but it was all in the name of magic, so Mr. Ollivander didn't mind one bit, and even beamed at Dillon, telling him how beautiful his new wand was.

Katarina Petra Adaryn Ivanova (Katya)
Aspen | Sphinx Whisker | 13 Inches | Quite Rigid
Katya's wand took to her quite quickly. As a gangly, awkward-looking eleven-year-old standing in Ollivander's shop, she knew, once the smooth aspen baton rested in her hand, that it was the one for her. The design is deceptively simple, with a clean, slender, enamel-like shaft. However, the thirteen inches of well-polished wood have a lustrous, almost unearthly glow about them. It is luminous, like the soft, mother-of-pearl sheen seen in Roman glass. The well-proportioned body holds the power of three sphinx whiskers in its centre. Quite rigid, and sternly carved, it retains an atmosphere of severity and non-conformity about it, a spirit of individualism.

Calum Hallinan (Calum)
Black Walnut | Graphorn Skin | 8 1/2 Inches | Pliable
Calum's wand was the first wand he'd ever tried, and it makes perfect sense to as why. Black Walnut wands tend to choose self-assured owners, and even as an eleven year old, Calum was always very confident in who he was. The Graphorn Skin was more of a surprise, since it is attuned to dueling and defensive spells, and Calum was never much of a fighter when he was younger. Now that he is older, though, it is more apparent to why his wand has a Graphorn Skin core--his frank personality frequently offends others, so he is defending himself quite often from angry classmates. His wand is long, thin, and fairly simple in design, with little adornments. The handle has a little notch in the wood, which Calum will pick at if he's ever nervous.

Juniper Celeste Frueuff (Juniper)
Willow | Winged Horse Feather and Re'em Blood | 12 Inches | Rather Bendy
Juniper's wand was immediately attracted to her—the wand practically jumped from Mr. Ollivander's hand and right into Juniper's. She was shocked, to say the least. But knew that she and the wand were meant to be as a bolt of light shot through the slim wand, only narrowly missing Mr. Ollivander's head. Juniper admires her wand as much it does her. She loves the svelte, gray-brown color wand, and the power it possess. The wand was attracted to Juniper due to her potential, and the desire to do great that burned within her. In a way, the wand became a sort of mentor for the fiery-willed, passionate girl. And so, eleven year old Juniper found the perfect wand.

Wainscott Abracar Worthington-West (Scott)
Apple | Winged Horse Feather and Crup Tail Hair | 11 Inches | Stiff
Dual-core wands tend to be temperamental, but if properly harnessed in perfect tandem, can make for a truly remarkable wand, and an ideal companion for a remarkable witch or wizard. Never one to eschew advancement and experimentation in wandmaking, Garrick Ollivander's silver eyes glittered in anticipation as the tousled haired boy placed an unerring hand upon the handle, causing a vague hint of what was unmistakably apple pie to suffuse the dusty air. "Ahh yes... Mister Worthington, you are indeed worthy of the apple's gifts." Scott would later come to find that the expertly crafted wand would complement his love for the outdoors, and his fascination with the weird and wonderful of the magizoological and magibotanical worlds he would come to explore so assiduously. Fulfilling his childhood desire to travel, the apple wand accompanied him in his forays in search of the legendary Hidden Valley, home of the largest demiguise community in the world, among other less than lucrative locations, proving itself time and again.

Robin Sparrow Dove (Robin)
Ebony | Veela Hair | 11 1/2 Inches | Reasonably Springy
Robin’s wand of ebony and Veela hair was one that Ollivander admitted to her he never thought he would sell, for the powers of the wood and the core seemed to contradict each other. Ebony generally indicates courage and combative magic, whereas the Veela hair hinted towards an owner less bold, fond of more common magic, like Charms and Divination. It seemed they balanced perfectly for her, however, with a calm, orderly personality, strong willpower, and firm beliefs. Robin has kept the wand for four years, since she bought it at age eleven, and she doesn’t think any of it has lost its shine: not the coils of gold and silver wrapped around the handle for four inches nor the polished ebony that had provided so much good luck to her at Hogwarts.

Charlotte Annabelle Parker (Char)
Maple | Ashwinder Eggs | 13 Inches | Stiff
Charlotte's wand is a dark, reddish color. It is relatively plain and has grooves marking the handhold. This wand chose Charlotte because of her natural skill for Potions, and her tendency to aim high and use her ambition for learning. Upon taking hold of this wand, Charlotte was greeted with a vibrating sensation and purplish smoke emitting from the tip of the wand.

Linda Violette (Linda)
Black Walnut | Jobberknoll Down | 11 3/4 Inches | Supple
When Linda first picked up her wand, nothing significant happened. However, as she was about to return it to its box it spewed out green sparks, signally its choice. Delighted to have been chosen by her first pick of a wand, she became instantly in love with its mostly gray-brown color, and the light tan stripe up the side. Linda is sweet, intelligent, and sincere, so it makes sense that this wand, with its Black Walnut wood, which is known for pairing well with honest and powerful individuals, chose Linda.

Laetitia Isolde Jacintha Rosenthal (Leigh)
Ebony | Basilisk Skin | 15 Inches | Unyielding
Laetitia's wand, like its mistress, is of a striking, theatrical appearance. Crafted of pearlescent ebony wood, it is possessed of a comfortable heftiness and is smooth to the touch. Running one's finger over the shaft, it is possible to perceive minute indentations in the wood, worn-away relics of skillfully carved curlicues. At the center lies a snippet of basilisk skin, a core gleaned from her late grandfather's wand. Incidentally, he had been a Death Eater, one of Voldemort's inner circle. The fifteen-inch long body of the instrument is delicately and lovingly crafted, for, when it comes to the Rosenthals, only the best will do. Unyielding when bent, it serves a double purpose as both a weapon and an object for show. Roughly halfway from either end, the wand is spliced apart by a large, glassy orb-like jewel, a ludicrously large amber-coloured topaz stone, which heralds Leigh's over-the-top personality.

Warwick Merlinien Stanton-Hayes (Rick)
Sycamore | Re'em Blood | 11 Inches | Rigid
To be honest, Rick almost felt like giving up, having tried what felt like every possible want in the store, none had provided any sign of forming the beginnings of any sort of bond with the effusive golden-haired eleven year old, but being a natural optimist and rarely if ever discouraged, Rick could not shake the growing feeling that waving lengths of wood around was not the cleverest use of his time, and it was with a growing sense of acceptance that he picked up the wand the elderly wandmaker handed to him after what felt like a lifetime of deliberation. A curious and ebullient child, the partnership between wizard and wand was struck in a shower of golden sparks. To the boy's mounting excitement Olivander elaborated on how he "never twigged that that wand would ever find an owner, well my wide eyed lad, enjoy, but do so responsibly!"

Thomas Oliver Straut (Thomas)
Cherry | Dragon Heartstring | 10 2/3 Inches | Inflexible
The wand maker who sold Thomas this wand was very hesitant to do so. He even pulled his parents aside to quote his great uncle's warning: This sort of wand ought never be teamed with a wizard without exceptional self-control and strength of mind. Thomas's parents, while they did hear the warning, did not pay the wandmaker's words as much attention as he would have liked. Still, the wand did indeed choose the wizard, and Ollivander pushed his concerns to the side. While many wizards foolishly consider cherry a foolish, frivolous wand wood, it possesses lethal power, especially with addition of a dragon heartstring core. Cherry is a rare wand wood prized especially among the students of Mahoutokoro in Japan (there, those who own cherry wands have special prestige). The wand is capable of changing allegiance and will always bond strongly with the present owner. While it does not incline towards the Dark Arts, it is capable of being turned to such. It is a bit touchy, as far as wands go, and while it learns quickly, it is a tad temperamental and prone to accidents. That being said, it is also capable of the most flamboyant spells, a quality Thomas enjoys taking advantage of. So far, he has proved a competent master of the powerful wand, but he is one who likes to test the limits. The wand is a dark, reddish-brown that has grown darker as it's aged. It has a slender, rounded tip, and, as per tradition, a thicker handle region. A briolette (a pear shaped gemstone covered with facets that comes to a pointed end) goshenite (a colorless variety of beryl) gemstone sits at the top of the handle, effectively separating the wand into two separate pieces. Somehow, the dragon heartstring runs through the gem, causing the clear stone to glow, the intensity of the light determined by the strength of the spell cast, and lasting only for the duration of said spell. Thomas is very attached to and proud of his wand.

Jackson Patrick Straut (Patrick)
English Oak | Phoenix Feather | 12 Inches | Slightly Bendy
This wand chose Patrick for his strength, courage, and fidelity and his powerful intuition, a lesser-known trait of English oak wielders. Additionally, an affinity concerning the magic of the natural world attracted the wand to the then-eleven-year-old boy. The wand is as loyal as any, just as the boy who owns is. It is capable of a great range of magic, though it took a little bit of convincing to persuade the wand he was worthy of its power. The wand frequently displays a mind of its own, but Patrick doesn't usually mind.

Audrey Rose Fawley (Audrey)
Willow | Dragon Heartstring | 10 Inches | Bendy
Audrey's wand is medium length and curves at the tip. It is very elegant and white almost silver in colour. The handle of Audrey's wand is elegant and rather elaborate. Audrey received her wand when entering the shop. Audrey tried three wands before she found this one. When she found her wand it produced a stream of silver and gold sparks. As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon heartstring wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner. The dragon heartstring wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental. Willow is an uncommon wand wood with healing power, and it has been noted that the ideal owner for a willow wand often has some (usually unwarranted) insecurity, however well they may try and hide it. While many confident customers insist on trying a willow (attracted by their handsome appearance and well-founded reputation for enabling advanced, non-verbal magic) willow wands have consistently selected those of greatest potential, rather than those who feel they have little to learn. It has always been a proverb in that he who has furthest to travel will go fastest with willow. It chose her because of her potential, meaning she probably feels she still has a lot to learn, and also because of some insecurities she has, seen by the wand despite her efforts to hide them. The wand is a little shorter than average, which suits her because she isn't that loud or outgoing. Dragon heartstring cores make wands more adaptable and she is adaptable too.

Maeve Justicia Pangbourne (Maeve)
Pear | Fairy Wing and Unicorn Hair | 12 Inches | Pliable
Obtaining a wand was the most eagerly anticipated experience of all, and practically floating on a cloud of excitement, Maeve stepped into Olivander's, oblivious to the subtle undertone of timeless mystery and gazed wide eyed at the tottering piles of wand-boxes, until a strangely transparent voice made her jump. Oddly, it was she who pointed out the wand that would be hers, initiating it from among the thousands on display. When asked what made her select that particular wand her answer attempted to articulate the unspoken feeling that it had called to her somehow, a sensation that made her feel more than a little foolish. Enamoured by the warm gold of the handsome instrument, Maeve could barely wait to begin trying out spells for herself, contributing to her bouncy eagerness for September the first.

Lochlan Devon Graton (Loki)
Silver Lime | Mooncalf Blood and Pixie Eggs | 12 Inches | Pliable
Loki's wand seems to be more about appearance than anything else, with the overly fancy silver wood and vine designs engraved into the handle. Silver lime wands serve best people with the sight or those skilled at Legilimency, even at fifteen Loki has shown some skill towards the latter area, even if he can't tell the future from the past. His wand is a very powerful charms wand as well, the core being a blend of mooncalf blood and pixie eggs, both of which boost charms, along with Light leanings and a slight Herbology advantage from the mooncalf blood. Loki's wand is very rare, as neither the wood or one of the cores are commonly used, and are actually hard to come by. Loki's wand is around average length, and pliable, fitting his loyal personality.
