Great Lisa, it's my first real zombie read. I did read ONE that had different zombie stories in it. Trisha is a zombie fan but I'm not, so we'll see.

no worries. I'm just getting ready to post. I read 5 chapters...
I ended up with a migraine...and falling asleep around 8:00
and then waking up around midnight all rested up :(
so now I can't sleep.....

So...Lots of POV it's kind of hard to keep track but I think that's just because of the beginning

I'm 5 chapters in

This one is VERY different from the typical Zombie books I read. Normally, there aren't kids involved. That always makes it harder for me to read...because it's closer to what my reality would be if it really happened and keeping my kids protected...ugh, totally scares me :(

I only got thru ch 4. Have had a HUGE neck/back kink so bad I've been vegging on my couch with a heated herbal pack on all day. Felt like crap and could barely move. Hopefully I'll get a lot more done tomorrow.

Apologizing AGAIN! I've continued to have this kink in my upper back/neck (a BAD one) and just haven't felt like reading/posting. I am finally 5 chapters in, so here goes.

Scarlet: (view spoiler)[ I so feel for her. I understand her total panic to simply want to be with her kids! Anytime there is something the least bit wrong, I have that same undying desire to be with my kids. (hide spoiler)]

There are SO many characters to keep track of, although most probably won't be mentioned again. For example, Lyle Edson: (view spoiler)[ He's Nathan's neighbor that killed the cop (and I'm assuming zombie) before he/it hurt Nathan. Lyle's wife was bitten so that means she'll become a zombie, but he stays with her. Surely he'll be sorry but how sweet is that? (hide spoiler)]

Haha! I see that as a bad sign. LOL It talks about eating flesh...(view spoiler)["watching the second man trying to pull his arm out of the mouth of the first...the first man took a large bite of flesh...Blood sprayed the biter's face and meat tendons trailed from his mouth to the arm of his prey." Just stuff like that. LOL That's why I never watched vampire movies. I HATE seeing the teeth go into the neck! I have a difficult time dealing with this type of violence; whereas murders such as gun shooting or being stabbed I can deal with better when reading a book. Go figure. LOL (hide spoiler)]

I read lots of zombie books AND I watch a lot of crime shows.... *sigh* I'm not sure being desensitized is a good thing....

well, I'm 15 chapters in

so far..it's kind of meh
There are just so many storylines to keep track of and they haven't all met up. I'm more than 1/2 way and not a lot, other than a zombie invasion, has really happened...... I can't help but wonder if this is going to be a series.... :(

Well I'm in ch. 12 and it's my first real zombie novel. I think it's full of action, the zombie invasion is new to me too. So I guess I'm more impressed than you are.

Are the zombie "symptoms" such as not climbing common?

The people who keep showing up are known to the others. They keep saying, "Oh, that's..." And that makes it more intense for me. I can sense how horrible it would be!! I'll post on the computer shortly.

Well....lots of books have different takes on zombies.

when I told my husband I was reading an adult zombie book he said

"Are they runner zombies or shamblers" because, seriously, this is how often I read zombies :D lol

so yeah...the climbing vs not climbing - just depends on the author's idea of zombies.

but the slow, moaning, but shuffle towards sound and don't stop because their foot or hand falls off....all pretty common for zombies
including the gross biting and full eating of yuckie stuff..... I know...it's kind of crazy.

Have you every scene the runs where you actually run from zombies?? I'm dying to do one of these races

and yikes. it's taking turns I hadn't expected

Especially then, because you would literally be all I had left. I wouldn't want to lose you." and I hadn't thought of it that way.
