Voodoo Zombies or...?

A question for someone who's read this book... some of the reviews say there's "voodoo" involved. Is this book about voodoo zombies? Or is it about the more typical zombies caused by some kind of virus, etc.? (Of course, I know there are some books that mix the two types.)

What I took away from it? We don't really know yet. The assumption was that it was a kind of disease, however they mention that there may be voodoo involved. I haven't quite figured out whether that's true or a misdirection to basically create fear and control over people. I think the following books will really define it.

It's definitely about zombies, and surviving...great read honestly... If you like zombie books that is :) Try Rot & Ruin trilogy, one of my faves!
