((( Gotta go eat brb )))

Lucas chuckled. "No, you're fine. You talk, but apparently your speech is pretty incomprehensible." he smirked slightly. "I know what you mean, don't worry. Plus, it's kind of cute when you stammer or are confusing." he pulled a book off the shelf, turning his attention from Lena to the book. "Sooooo," Lucas drawled out. "What's going on between you and Matthew? Are you guys alright, or is something wrong? He seemed kind of edgy today when you showed up."

"I don't know, we're fine" she says quickly not quite meeting his eyes, "I don't know what's up with him, why would I? Shouldn't you?" She curses herself mentally at sounding so dumb. OK, smarten up or you'll have no one left wanting to wed you she thinks sighing, and places the book back stepping away from it. "Do you know where Matthew is?" she asks peering out the large bay windows behind her, that let in sunlight to showcase the marvelous books.

Lucas shook his head and chuckled lightly. "No, I don't know what's up with him. Recently, he seemed to be in a pretty good mood, and we all, mum dad and I, thought because you would be coming shortly. But he seemed edgy today and yesterday, and a little the day before then. I was hoping you could shed some light on that. As for where he is? I'd most likely say down in the stables or around there. Probably racing or jousting with Phoenix. He does that from time to time when he gets upset."

"Phoenix" Lena freezes her imagination going wild for a second, and imagining the two of them rolling around in the grass doing god knows what. "Who?" she asks inching towards the door, placing the book back in it's place. She wanted to go find them now, she definitely didn't trust Matthew alone with a girl, and she guessed by his personality that she would be pretty.

"Phoenix." Lucas repeated. "One of the servant girls that works down in the barn and helps out there and in the armory and such. They've developed a nice little friendship over the years since she was first brought here. Why? I can take you down there, if you want." He offered, holding his hand out to Lena.

Lena nodded, "I would love that" she replied taking Lucas' hand in hers. "Just friends? " she muttered her cheeks redenning with the slight tinge of anger and hatred she felt towards Phoenix. She cleared her mind sighing, why do I care? she thought walking with Lucas.

Lena glared straight ahead as they walked and she deliberately pressed closer to Lucas the closer they got to their destination. "Uh huh" she muttered trying to return his smile but failing. She finally settled for a smirk instead. "So, do you have somebody you like to spend time with?" she asked trying to change the subject and not sound jealous of Phoenix.

Lucas shook his head. "Besides Matthew, no. Unlike him, I'm interested in and help father out in his activities and businesses of running this country. Matthew could care less about this country of ours. He's selfish like that. I, on the other hand, am concerned about and care for our people. Which is why I will probably become father's successor as king once he dies. Though hopefully that doesn't happen for many more years." he crossed the large section of yard outside until they arrived where Matthew and Phoenix were.

"Maybe I should marry you instead then" she teased a smile on her face. Which disappeared the minute she saw Matthew on top of.. Phoenix she assumed, pinning her to the ground. She cleared her throat and inched closer to Lucas who was right now providing support for her.
((( Temme if you want me to change my response )))

Matthew's head snapped up and he glared at Lena, his cheeks reddening. Surprised, he loosened his grip, and Phoenix grinned and pushed him off of her. They both stood up and Lucas smirked. "Who's that?" Phoenix whispered to Matthew, her head jerking to Lena's direction. Matthew told her, and color rose to her cheeks. She automatically didn't like Lena, but as a servant, she knew se had to show respect to those higher in rank than she. "Pleased to meet you, Princess Lena." Phoenix murmured and bowed slightly in front of her, but not without making a face when he was sure Lena wasn't paying attention. Amusement was written clearly all over Lucas's face as he watched Matthew. "Well, brother. If you asked me, that looked a little more intimate than playful." He nudged Lena. "Am I right, Lena?" Phoenix and Matthew exchanged secret glances. Matthew nodded and Phoenix turned and headed back to the stables.

"Whoa, whoa. Calm down." Lucas placed his hand on Matthew's shoulder but he shrugged it off. Lucas firmly gripped Matthew's elbow and hauled him away from Lena and out of the library. "What are you doing?" He hissed. "You can't ruin this. Quit being such a prick to her."
"Me?! Being the prick? I'm not the one starting things. She's upset for some reason about me and Phoenix. We didn't do anything."
"Well it didn't look exactly like 'nothing' to me. You shouldn't be getting involved with Phoenix that way."
"What?! I can't believe you're siding with her." Marthew sneered the last word 'her' like a curse.

"Hey." Phoenix dropped a waded up ball of ripped cloth that belonged to the girl's dress on her face. It was Lena, right? She nudged her with her toe. "You ripped this." she said sardonically. "Wasn't sure if you'd want it back or not. A shame if you wasted that pretty little dress." Phoenix dropped to a crouch and eyed Lena warily. God, she hated when people got dramatic and emotional. Probably one of the most annoying things ever, in her opinion. She bit her lip, unsure of what to say. She felt empathetic for this girl and wanted to sympathize with her or at least try to make her feel better, but anything along those lines or emotion of any sort was something she was never good at. Probably one of the reasons she loved Matthew so much. He just made everything make sense. And she felt like she could open up with him and show emotion. Sometimes. Somehow. Of some sort. Phoenix smiled at the thought of Matthew, then pushed the smile away.

Yay "friend's" lol. Yeah I know what you mean =D

((No problemo. I gtg in ten minutes anyways :c ))

Phoenix's eyes flashed with anger and she bit her lip to keep from saying anything she'd end up regretting. Okay, point taken. Her fists unclenched and clenched repetitively as she watched Lena lick her bottom lip. The desire to bust it for her was overwhelming. She wouldn't be laughing, then. "Sad, how unfortunate it will be for your 'choice' that you decide to choose that you can't reciprocate the same beauty. Internally or externally." she shrugged.

"Hey." Matthew said softly and gripped her wrists, pulling her into him. "You seem worked up about something. What's wrong?" he asked. He sounded almost genuinely concerned. Maybe because he was.
"Nothing." Phoenix shook her head and waved her hand in the way as if to wave the problem away. "Don't worry."
Matthew tilted his head curiously at Phoenix, but decided to let her little lie slip. "Okay." he said and kissed her softly. Phoenix kissed him back, hungry for more. She slipped her hands up his shirt, but he pushed them back down. Her face fell, but she maintained her composure. She wasn't going to act like that bothered her. "Not here." he whispered. "Maybe later tonight?"
"Yeah, later." Phoenix echoed. "Love you."
"Love you, too." Matthew grinned. They parted and Matthew headed up to the library to meet Lucas.

Lena glanced up at him part surprised, part annoyed. She sits a little straighter mainly out of habit, and pride. "Well for starters, you called me a bitch, Phoenix practically punched me" she paused counting on her fingers. "My dress is torn, and I can't find my room to change and even if I did I wouldn't be able to unzip it and I don't want to talk to my maids" she said finally finishing and taking a deep breath. "Though those are just my rich girl problems" she added leaning back against the window, pulling up the sleeve that was half way down her shoulder again.
