Sabreena || Fallen

"Almost 17 actually but that doesn't really make it any better does it?" trying to hide the blush that had spread across her cheeks at his wandering eyes. Stop it! she scolded herself. "Almost 3 years younger than my husband" she muttered under her breath, her fists clenching. Yet another reason why this marriage was the worst idea in the world. The only good one might be the fact that Matthew was so.. Appeasing.

Matthew raised an eyebrow with interest at Lena. "Oh, Johnathan? He's twenty three. And you were just worried about marrying someone three years your senior?" he shook his head sadly and clicked his tongue. "I didn't peg you as a hypocrite, Lena, but I guess it's true what people say about married couples; you get to find things out about your spouse you didn't really know." he smirked at her. "But Johnathan will be there for the wedding, so you guys can have a nice little reunion. Maybe I'll even invite him to spend the night, or a few. How does that sound?"

Lena stares at him in disgust. "Marrying someone, and sleeping with someone are two different things. No one asked me to sleep with you" she says and realises what exactly she was implying at the last minute and shakes her head. "Not that I would want to" she quickly adds not wanting to give him the wrong idea. She smirks at the ground looking away and remembering a couple months ago when Johnathan had come to visit, that was fun while it lasted. Of course that was before Alex confessed his love for her, she hers for him.

Matthew chuckled. "You're funny when you're embarrassed, and it's even funnier when you humiliate yourself." he paused before they entered the dining hall and stopped in front of her. "So you and Johnathan don't have anything then? I can come in and claim you for myself?" he smiled. "Look at it this way, Lena. You're going to be stuck with me for a while, and I'll be stuck with you for a while, so lets try to make it at least worthwhile, alright? Just pretend we aren't enemies, and we aren't supposed to get married, that we're just friends."

She smiles at him biting her pinks lip. This was fun, she liked driving guys crazy and it frustrated her how hard it was to do it with Matthew. "Do you have somebody back home waiting on you?" she asks him softly leaning slightly closer to him. She felt sorry for him, she knew exactly what he was going through. "I'm sorry" she murmurs under her breath.

Matthew snapped back to his usual, aware self, the dreamy, tired feeling gone, vanished. "You don't have anything to be sorry for." Matthew replied. "Nothing is your fault, and there's nothing either of us could do about any of this." he shrugged. Did he want to tell her about Phoenix? Well, yes, and no. He decided not to answer her, to let her question slide.

She sighed, "Okay don't.." she trails off. She didn't want to give him a clue to where her things where so she decided not to say anything at all. "I'll be back as soon as I can" she tells him closing the door gently behind her. All she could do now was hustle, and pray he didn't find anything of importance to her. Though everything in there had a great importance to her. She made her way to her own room, and stood patiently as her hand maidens dressed and readied her.

Matthew pulled his eyes away from his book and up at Lena. "Wow. You look beautiful." he smiled. "I, ah, I'm not really sure what I'm reading. It's pretty good, though." he handed her the book to look at it. "I'd recommend it, although I don't doubt you've most likely already read it. I wouldn't be surprised if you'd read every book in here."

She blushes slightly at his comment but chooses to not address it. "I have actually, this one's about Early Mankind and the such" she replies smiling. She takes the book gingerly from his hands and flip through it, her smile growing with fond memories. She places the book back in it's place and comes back to sit next to Matthew. "Yeah well, I like to have read most if not all the books in my shelves".

"So that's what you do with all your free time, then? Come down here and read?" Matthew asked, trying to sound genuinely interested. The truth was, he wasn't feeling very nice anymore, but he knew he should be. "What are some of your favorite books in here?"

"Not all my free time is spread reading" she says laughing then gets up quickly to hide the blush spreading across her cheeks. No. No. No "I like riding, and stuff" she stammers to cover up quickly. "What did you do back home in your free time?" she asks pacing the room slowly, she hated sitting still and couldn't sit still with him just watching her with those milky eyes of his. She tries to clear the thought from her mind. Stop

"Well," Matthew drawled out slowly. "I guess what your average prince would like. I like to ride, practice my swordsmanship and archery skills, as well as other things to help me in battle. I do enjoy reading sometimes, however, and watching over the kingdom. And of course, I spend a lot of my free time with some of the servants around castle. They can be entertaining in several different ways." he chuckled, as if sharing a private joke with himself.

Lena raised her eyebrow" questioning but shook her head. "Uh-huh" she replied getting up and straightening her hair. "Well, dinner's in an hour I'm going to go do something. Would you like to stay here?" she asks him waiting at the door As much as she liked to spend time with him we was starting to get either bored with her, or annoyed and she didn't want to prolong his suffering plus she had somewhere to be.

Matthew took the book back from Lena and rose from his seated position on the couch. He scanned the bookshelves, then a little "Aha." escaped his mouth when he found where the book had been. He gently placed it back in it's previous correct location and turned back to Lena. "Actually, I think I'll go back up at attempt to indulge in a conversation with them. Which might prove to be a little difficult, seeing as how boring they are." he shrugged. "Do you need any help doing your task or whatever you need to do, though? I'd much rather do that."

Lena stared at him for a few minutes then looked down at the note Alex had left with her handmaidens. "Uh" her mind was battling against itself and she finally came to a conclusion. "I don't need help but you can accompany me" she tells him, quickly writing a message for Alex and leaving it on the main table. "Come on lets go" she gestures at the door waiting for Matthew to leave first.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES I WENT AND SAW IT!!!
Is Francis Lawrence Finnick? Ooh, are he and Jenn related?
I went to see it with my annoying stepmother and one of my younger sisters, but that's better than none at all.
Reply soon, sorry.))

((sorry for le short reply))

Lena followed after Matthew closing and locking the door behind her. "You know what? I've forgotten what I was going to do." she tells Matthew covering up for what her real plans were. "Where would you like to go?"

Matthew frowned. He didn't really believe Lena, but he wasn't going to waste time pestering her or trying to convince her to tell him the truth. "Well, if you have forgotten, I guess there's not really anything else to do, so it seems we'll have to resort to heading back to where our parents are." he paused. "Unless you have something else in mind, that is."
Even though she still thought he was way too old for her, it was considered an "appropriate" age distance by her parents and possibly his.
"What if I told you I was 15?" she asked, some people had mistook her for being that young of an age, though personally she didn't think it was that believable.
