Liz Durham | 58 comments This is one of the fastest reads I have ever encountered. I put a lot off just so I could finish this book! It was just such a horrible concept to me, but Suzanne Collins did such a wonderful job! I was so into it that I was yelling at the characters! There were some parts that grossed me out (I have a very light stomach for killing/gorish images), but it was still SO! GOOD! Anyone else think so? ^_^

message 2: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I loved it! It wasn't the most original idea, but she had a very original take on it. I can't wait for the next installment.

message 3: by Liz (new)

Liz Durham | 58 comments I know, neither can I! Are there supposed to be three?

message 4: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (nasiryn) So far that's what they are saying. You can look up catching fire on here and see what some people have said about the advanced copies they have read. It sounds great but no one on there has said anything about Gale and Peeta. My heart was just aching at the end of the book...

One of the best reads i had this year. The story -line did grab at me. I'm anxious for the sequel too.

message 6: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 437 comments I finally got this book from the library. I will be reading it as soon as I'm done with the Ray Charles biography I'm reading. I can't wait.

message 7: by Edith (new)

Edith | 256 comments I just started this book and was very worried about the story line. I'm only 100 pages in but I'm hooked. I can't wait to see what happens.

message 8: by Dalene (new)

Dalene I thoroughly enjoyed the book and want my 11 year old daughter to read it as well. While I was worried about the story line as well, I don't think there is anything too graphic that she wouldn't enjoy the book. We'll see if she chooses to read it or not. I am looking forward to reading the second installment, but waiting to finish other books already started. Reviews from my friends deem the second book a great read as well.

message 9: by Carly (new)

Carly Svamvour (faganlady) | 220 comments I'm listening to it now - about 3/4 the way through - it's a smooth read - unsettling thoughts here, but 'thoughts', just the same.

It's good if a book can make you think.

message 10: by Kate (new)

Kate (kshiv) | 27 comments I enjoyed it and zipped right through. I really liked Catching Fire better.

message 11: by Patricia (new)

Patricia Chan (spotcoolio) | 1 comments both catching fire and the hunger games were terrific reads. I just can't wait for the third book to be released in August

message 12: by Mary E. (new)

Mary E. (jujjy) | 4 comments I really enjoyed The Hunger Games! I listened to the audio version, and the narrator was awesome. I'm still waiting for my library to get Catching Fire on audio, since I want to continue in the same format.

Enjoyed the first two books, but found "Mockingjay" a little too political for my tastes. The movies, however, worked the opposite way. I was ho-hum about the first two, and loved "Mockingjay Part I." I am actually a little ashamed of how happy I am that there's a second part coming!
