Alva | 219 comments Starting the Book Thief tomorrow for the 4th time. I've stopped three times after ten to fifteen pages. I was never really interested, but everyone is like worshipping it, so I'll have to give it another try.

Have you already read the Book Thief?

message 54: by [deleted user] (new)

I've never read that...I don't like reading books in older days XD

message 55: by Alva (new)

Alva | 219 comments XD Me actually neither, only if it's really a good book! Then I really enjoy it. More than any futuristic/contemporary book!

readeraz (zoethereader) | 493 comments The infernal devices was that book for me <3! I also really liked the book thief because I am Jewish so I can kinda understand what the deal was. It's a pretty good book!

Alva | 219 comments I despise TID regarding the historical thingy. In my opinion it's so bad researched and I thought it was unbelievably naively dealing with the people's customs in these times.

message 58: by Stormy (new)

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 305 comments I have to agree about TID's historical accuracy. I'm a history nut and pretty sure some of the things they are doing are not socially except able for the time period. Like in Clockwork Prince, Will makes a crude comment about how he thinks Bridget can only cook with potatoes. Even for a shadowhunter that statement goes against proper edict. Also, they don't talk about any of the other issues going on in London aside from what is causing conflict in the bokk.

Now, I do really enjoy this books don't get me wrong. I just wish the history was done a bit better.

readeraz (zoethereader) | 493 comments But you also have to remember in the early 1800's women were not seen as equals to men.
