Michael Bowler (michaeljbowler) | 21 comments Why is it when I or anyone types into your "search" box the full title of my book - and there is no other book by that title - the book doesn't appear on the popup list? Even now, in sending you this question, when typing the title into your This Topic is About box, the book did not appear. I had to find it via my name. I haven't discovered this anomaly with other books unless there are a lot with the same title. With the book not showing up, that means people can't find it. Please advise. Thanks

Abcdarian | 26579 comments I've seen this several times, but haven't seen a reason. Your book does come up, but some pages into the results. The only solution I've seen is that if the title is in quotation marks in the search your book will come up first. Maybe asking in the goodreads feedback forum would produce a more useful answer https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1 or maybe someone on staff can better advise here.

Susie (dragonsusie) | 2469 comments It's because of the way the search works: [term]+[term]+[term], with any books that match any/and all/or of those terms showing, with the most popular at the top.

The best way to search to avoid this is using quote marks: "[term] [term] [term]". It then searches as a whole, rather than each word individually.

Alternatively, ISBNs skip the queue to go directly to the book.
