SOLVED. A boy named Dallas and a motorcyclist stalker [s]

I read a book 4-5yrs ago about a woman who was one of 3 sisters. She fell in love with an outsider-type, I think his name is Dallas--the only concrete detail I can remember about the book, but it may have been her name instead. He goes to jail and she falls into debilitating depression until one of her 2 sisters who is a lawyer finally helps. Please pass this description around, I am dying to know the title so I can put it in my list of books read.

There was another book that my husband checked back into the library before I couldn't finish it because we were moving. It was about a young woman who was settling her family's estate somewhere in Europe. She is nearly hit by a motorcyclist in black a few times before she figures out it is her sister Janice. The centerpiece of the story is a tapestry and maybe suit of armor that are ancient family hierlooms. Again, does anyone know the title of this book?
