Hogwarts has in its faculty an abundance of wise and talented professors. Each specializes in a specific subject. Other staff positions include that of school nurse, caretaker, librarian, and Keeper of the Keys and Grounds of Hogwarts. The title Professor is used by teachers at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It is considered rude by some to not address a member of staff as Professor, Madam, or Sir. There are a variety of classes taught at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. These include both the core curriculum and the electives, available from third year forward. Some classes may be dropped in sixth year.

Powers and Rights
Professors have the power to award and dock points, give detention and write notes for certain areas and activities that are usually off limits, such as the Restricted Section in the Hogwarts Library or permission to practice on the Quidditch pitch.

Education
It is presumed that wizards and witches do not need any form of specific education, other than having received their O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s, to gain the title of Professor and become a Hogwarts teacher, as people such as Dolores Umbridge were able to become teachers at Hogwarts. However, even someone who did not complete their O.W.L. examinations was able to become a Professor, as long as he or she had been chosen by the Headmaster/Headmistress of the school in question, or if they had been appointed by the Ministry of Magic. This was the case with the Care of Magical Creatures Professor from 1993-1997, Rubeus Hagrid. He was expelled from Hogwarts before being able to complete any 'important' exams, however Hagrid was considered more than qualified on the subject matter. Another example was Firenze, who, as a non-wizard, had not previously attended Hogwarts.

s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» | 1149 comments Information About the Schedule

• Classes are in hour blocks. For example, a class in the 8:00am block would go from 8:00am to 9:00am.
• Classes in brackets are electives. Students are required to take two electives in their 3rd, 4th, and 5th years. Students are encouraged to try different electives between their 3rd and 4th years, so that in their 5th year they can choose two electives to take for their NEWTs and continue into their 6th and 7th years for their OWLs.

s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» | 1149 comments :D Sounds awesome, just let me know when you're done. (If you'll put what houses/years they're teaching when, that would be most excellent.) [ex. 3: Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw]

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) Yep, I'll add that. Also, upon reviewing the two subjects, I've decided to switch his primary subject to ancient runes and his secondary subject to apparation since there are a lot less of those classes to teach lol.

s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» | 1149 comments Haha, yep, sounds lovely.

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) Um... how should I do Apparition? :/ It's a special case.

s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» | 1149 comments Um... I'll figure that out, don't worry about it. :)

s•u•n•s•h•i•n•e «§KENZ§» | 1149 comments Haha, well, I'll deal with it eventually.
