Background: Syrah has lived on Syren Island for as long as she can remember. She has had no contact with anyone whatsoever, since her mother was cursed in the first war. Her father died in a tragic accident, so her only family is her mother, who used to visit her before the curse. The curse trapped Sy's mother in a whirlpool, impossible to get out of. Syrah's only education is what her mother taught her before, and what washes ashore the island. While Sy could leave the island, she is afraid of what's out there. So, she hides among the other island inhabitants in secrecy.
Every Full moon, Syrah's Siren side totally takes over. This is another reason Sy is very afraid of leaving the island. She has very little control of her body during this time, and is basically possessed.

All her siblings were adopted. Zoey feels everything is her fault. She tries to stay away from others. It was her fault that her house burned down when she was young. She was trying out a new move, then one of the curtains lit up, then before she knew it, her whole house was on fire. Her mother had saved her and took her somewhere where she could learn to control her abilities.
Present Life:
Zoey hasn't seen the rest of her family since. She's been living with her mother. Right now, she's traveling around hoping to learn more about what's happening around her. She and her mother live in Terca Lumereis. They know where the rest of the family is, but Zoey doesn't want them to reveal themselves, for she is afraid of being rejected. Zoey changed her name. What it was before remains a secret. But right now, she's Zoey Embers. Zoey is traveling too, at least until school starts again.

Appearance: Gintoki has natural wavy and silver hair, and absolutely hates it since it gets knotted up. He wishes it was straight and easy to manage. He also has half-lidded red "dead fish eyes" as many people tell him. He wears a black shirt and pants with red linings, and a white yukata (a summer kimono) with light blue patterns worn sloppily, draped over his left shoulder. He normally has his sword on his left hip and his jutte in his yukata. He usually walks around with his left arm inside the yukata, instead of through the sleeve.
Personality: Gintoki seems to have a very funny side. He'll always be joking around and making puns. He normally talks in a drawl and has no problem talking dirty. Gintoki's past continues to influences who he is and how he acts. He believes having a loving family is all someone really needs in life, due to his lack of a family. He is very respectful of his teacher and out of memory of his teacher's kind actions (the death of his teacher is probably one of main reasons he joined the war). He hates and gets enraged if someone who would harm their student would call himself a teacher, while they torture their student.
His inability to protect many of his friends in the war still haunts him, and as a result, he tries to isolate himself so he doesn't make more bonds. Due to his personality, though, he can make bonds pretty quickly. The only reason he fought in the Mutant vs. Human was to protect his friends, not for his country or the samurai way. He acts like a coward most of the time, and will seem to attempt to leave behind his friends if his life is in danger, but is actually willing to risk his life for anyone, and is extremely caring towards his friends, though he tries to hide it. He will make countless sacrifices to make them happy, even if it means going away from them forever.
Gintoki is extremely scared of ghosts, but is very sensitive to their presence and many times will try to deny their existence. He has many childish personality traits despite his age, calling himself a child in a man's body. One such trait is his love of sweets to the point of nearly developing diabetes. He is mostly seen eating or drinking something sweet, with strawberry milk and chocolate parfaits being his favorites. He loves alcohol but his preference is sake that is not too strong. He loves to eat meat and will go to great lengths to acquire the latest Jump issues. He also has a hatred of the dentist, something he is ashamed of due to his age.
Gintoki is very lazy, and is often shown reading Jump and lying around. Due to his poverty, he is always behind on his rent and often runs away when the landlady comes to collect the rent. He attempts to save money whenever he can, but he also loves to play Pachinko and other gambling games, resulting in him spending all his money. Even though he's lazy most of the time, Gintoki is quite a dedicated worker and always puts his mind on his jobs. He also has great respect for bushido.
Gintoki seems to dislike his curly perm hair. He even says his lack of girlfriends is due to his 'natural perm' hair. He will ignore girls that stalk or abuse him, even if they show clear love interest in him. It might be possible that he shows a lot of interest in any women that has a nice body and shows to not have an angry personality, unless they are a stalker or physically attack him. This counts even when they are drunk. Despite his appearance and initial behavior, Gintoki has a great amount of pride for the old bushido code. He takes it upon himself to rescue or avenge not only his comrades and friends but also people he barely knows. Gintoki is bit of a sadist.
Family: He never had any family. The closest thing he ever had to family was his friends and mentor, Yoshida Shouyou, all of whom were killed in the war.
Background: Sakata Gintoki was born on the battlefield, near the beginning of the war. As he grew up, he was tossed around and taken in reluctantly by mutants until they were killed. Then he moved on. By the age of five, the war was desperate enough that no one would take him. For a while, he survived by hiding during a battle, then stealing all the food and clothing left on the battlefield, if it wasn't covered in blood. Obviously, there were survivors and scouts, and he learned how to use the sword quite well, and was skilled enough to kill swordsmen who could use their mutant powers with their sword, since he was always watching and battling samurai. By the time he was eight, his reputation spread until a dojo master named Yoshida Shouyou heard of him and came to see who this "vulture" was.

When Gintoki met the man, he was wary and tried to kill him. However, this man was far more advanced than anyone he'd ever battled. He could feel it, yet the man took him in instead of drawing his word and killing him. Drawn to him, Gintoki accepted his offer and found himself in the man's dojo. Shouyou was kind to him and taught him how to awaken and control his mutant power, and how to embed them in his sword. Soon, he was the top student at the dojo and had plenty of friends, as well as a father figure. He was also the only one not fighting in the war yet.
That changed when he was fourteen. He visited the dojo to check on his teacher, who had returned since he was sick. There, he found that his mentor had been murdered by the humans. Even worse, the murderers were still there, laughing of how they successfully assassinated one of their greatest enemies. Enraged, he killed them and once again joined the battlefield. For two years, he fought furiously and was a figure of hope and strength for the fighters, gaining a reputation as the "White Yaksha". Though he helped save many of them, he had joined too late and is aware of it as well. One man could not change the course of a war, even if they were the strongest samurai. The war in Japan was drawing to a close, and though his reason for fighting(his friends) was gone, he was determined to protect what they were fighting for a bit longer. During the last days of the war, he helped the survivors escape and go into hiding, then vanished without a trace.

That was ten years ago. Now, Gintoki is where no one would think he would be. A place only an idiot would hide: Earth's Japan, the opposite of where he had been fighting. He never draws his sword and always uses a wooden sword instead. He hasn't touched his jutte and sword since he came to Japan. He works as a freelancer, doing all kinds of jobs as long as they don't include murdering anyone. However, he runs it by himself and can only do so much business. Though they don't acknowledge it, Gintoki shares a mother-son relationship with his landlady, Otose. He protects her no matter what, due to a promise to her late husband. Anyone who looks at his lazy figure could never guess who he once was. He doesn't want anyone to remember, either.

Powers/Abilities: Gintoki is a master of the jutte and sword. He can use all sword forms involving the katana and has merged them into his own style. You could say he is a swordsmanship genius. His mutant ability is simply...wind manipulation. He is incredibly fast. The worst part, however, is when he merges his swordsmanship with his wind power. His cuts cannot be stopped by physical barriers and many energy barriers. And he can carry his cuts with the wind. He is good at gathering info, since he can pick up things most couldn't and can be incredibly quiet.
Crush: None, though he prefers tsundere and/or masochistic girls.

Likes: He is the biggest sugar lover in the two worlds! In fact, 'Sugar' is engraved on his sword. His favorite desserts are chocolate parfaits. His favorite drinks are strawberry milk and light sake. He is also a huge Jump fan, and always has at least one of them with him. Again, he likes tsundere, slightly masochistic girls that don't abuse or stalk him and have nice bodies. His favorite card game is UNO.
Dislikes: He dislikes any other manga that isn't included on Shonen Jump. He also doesn't like killing people.
Fears: He fears ghosts tremendously. He also hates the dentist.
Weaknesses: Though Gintoki tries not to show it, he is incredibly loyal to his friends. His loyalty could be considered his greatest weakness.
Other: Before you say he is overpowered, he is the most powerful swordsman, not the strongest mutant or anything. Also, there are some mature references with him, but so far, he is the oldest characters. Please approve him, I've always wanted to RP him and this group's plot is as close as it gets to Gintama's!

He’s got one tiny mole just below his right eye and a crooked smile. He’s tall, around 6’2”, but got his growth spurt rather late in life. He’s often seen wearing a basic jean and plain button shirt combo, but has a necklace with a lightening bolt on it.
Personality: He’s charming and funny, an optimist. He rarely cannot see the silver lining, even when it is storming outside. He keeps to himself most, but is friendly enough. He can be too trusting sometimes, but his loyalty is something that is not to be toyed with. He’s got a strong sense of self and a good grip on his morals. While light-hearted, he doesn’t fool around. When the occasion calls for it, he can be serious and attentive.
Family: His father and mother split up when he was still young. The marriage ended, but not on bad terms. The family still spends holidays together, just not as a ‘complete’ family. His mother spends most of her time traveling, so he grew up mostly with his father.
Background: Kai’s family was broken up at a very young age, but that never shook them. His mother went off to travel the world while he and his father stayed in an undersized apartment in NYC. Kai spent his childhood alternating between roaming the bookshelves of the New York Central Library where his father worked and going off to visit his mother wherever she ended up. He was independent at a young age, but always preferred being in a group than on his own.
