It was pretty good Michael. I enjoyed the stories shawshank redemption, the body, and the breathing method but did not like apt pupil but it was a pretty good collection. def check it out.
Amber-
I agree that the first three you mentioned are better stories, but Apt Pupil is the one that still gives me creepy flashbacks, even after 20 years. :o

Thanks renee and yes apt pupil is a nasty and disturbing story. Btw, your name is my middle name. Lol. :-)
I just started reading Apocalypse Cow and I'm really enjoying it. One of my favourite authors (Christopher Moore) read and recommended this and I'm really glad he did. It's great so far!
I'm in the middle of Middlemarch too - although it's currently on hold as I started reading Great Expectations and one classic at a time is enough. Also reading A Dance with Dragons and Silver Wattle.
I loved Eleanor & Park!I am currently reading The Girl Who Chased the Moon and listening to The Choice. My digital download of Winter's Tale ended and even though it is ok and I want to finish it I don't want to buy it because I don't love it so I am back on the hold list for it. I anticipate getting it back in about a week.
Still working on The Bible, Your 100 Day Prayer, and The Artists Way.Also working on Diaper Free Baby, and Pendulum: How Past Generations Shape Our Present and Predict Our Future

I'm currently reading The Poisoned House: A Ghost Storywhich I started today and hope to finish tomorrow. and am also reading Little Men. I need to read a friend's ebook too. :)

Currently just half way through The Shock of the Fall, and I must say I am rather wrapped up in it. I had heard some buzz about it, and saw it in my local library so I thought I would give it a bash and it is a really interesting read!Something about it is very reminiscent of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time for me. I think it might have something to do with it's portrayal of the protagonist's issues (although, I know in The Curious Incident... The protagonist is autistic which is technically a neurodevelopment disorder rather than a mental health issue, I feel like the first hand account of disordered thinking/living in both books draw parallels).
In any case, it is making for a pretty wonderful read (if slightly jarring; as the story is made up of anecdotes from here and there that don't adhere to a strict timeline).
Currently reading The Catcher in the Rye, it is not the normal kind of book I would read, but I bought an old paperback copy and I am finding a good read so far.

Would love to know what you think of The Husband 's Secret.
This is the last in her series on the Irish century. If you have any interest in Ireland, these novels give you a very good feel of the birth of modern Ireland.
Good history, but even better novels.
I am currently reading The Great Gatsby by S. Fitzgerald; I just finished chapter three. Beautifully written. Love the story!
I am almost done with Little Men which is pretty good then got a read 4 review request to do and then will go from there.
The Silmarillion. Tolkien is very generous with letters to fans. Ask for a "brief sketch" and you get a 14 pages-long letter detailing the story lol
I'm reading Bridge of Timeand The Wind in the Willows. They are both pretty good reads and will finish them both soon.
almost done with The Wind in the Willows and started on the final Kingdom Keepers book which is pretty good so far. The Insider
Just started The Gospel of Loki, for a break in my Shakespeare reading. It'll be interesting to see how much it is influenced by the Marvel adaptations of Loki, or if it will stick to the traditional myths found in The Prose Edda etc.
Finished the Silmarillion (liked Eärendil's as much as I knew I would) and now I'm currently 100 pages in Doctor Sleep
Finished The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat by Edward Kelsey Moore and this book did not strike a note with me at all. Now I've started A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole and these characters are just plain absurd. Also started Casino Royale by Ian Fleming.
Okay! So, I've just finished If You Find Me, which I absolutely LOVED. I'm now starting on the long awaited *drum roll*... Hollow City! Has anyone else read any of the Miss Peregrine's series?

I really enjoyed it, and I would really recommend it. When I finished last year, I was gutted that I had to wait 6 months for the sequel, I liked it so much.

I am currently juggling Dolly, The First Discworld Novels: The Colour of Magic and the Light Fantastic & Gray Justice I am enjoying all of them to be honest. I haven't read as much this month so far due to my line manager being away and having to pick up hours at work. :( She is back on Saturday so let the cramming commence!
I've started White Fire and I'm really enjoying it. If you're a fan of the Pendergast series then you'll really like this latest installment.
Nearing half way through MaddAddam. Not 100% into it, but it's still a very good read. Can't beat Margaret Atwood's writing..,
I'm reading Kingdom Keepers 7 and the new Virals book Exposure and they are both pretty good thus far.
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings has got me by the feels right now. I only really started it yesterday and I'm already half way through (which I feel is fast for me). It's just so compelling!
I have a mountain of books between my bookcase and ereader that I haven't read yet, but a bookcover caught my eye on Thursday and knowing nothing of the book or the author I'd already decided to buy it. This is why I never have any money. Even though we shouldn't judge books by their covers I have a great appreciation for jackets. So as of tonight I'm digging in to Martin Harbottle's Appreciation of Time by Dominic Utton. (I have read the back of the book and am mightily relieved that it sounds like a great story).
