What are you currently reading?
it's the true story of a Saudi Arabian princess. It gets in depth about how women are treated in Saudi Arabia. It's a really good book and I'm learning so much about their culture.
I'm reading A Dance With Dragons, the fifth book in the Song of Ice and Fire series (Game of Thrones). I love it!
Casey, I internet-high-five you. I don't know how you've gotten so far. I think I just need to break through the middle bit of A Clash of Kings to get back into them again.
Haha yea Holly, it gets exciting and then slows down... Over and over. You just have to stick with them. Don't let me fool you though, I started the first book like six months ago. I've taken several breaks. :)
Finished my giant book of Sherlock Holmes (woo, that was a feat that I'm proud of) and the Maze Runner, and have moved onto Great Works of Edgar Allen Poe. Looking back, it looks like I'm not the only one. I just happened to find it on my bookshelf and realized I've never read through it all. I've only ever read whatever required class readings of Poe.
Yay Poe! Some of his stories are meh, but they're greatly outnumbered by the ones that are awesome.
Currently reading Krampus: The Yule Lord by Brom which is a pretty good read and the artwork is amazing in it. I hope to finish it soon so I can finish up on my few December reads I got left to go before 2013 ends.
I'm reading The Outsiders. I'd seen the movie and enjoyed it, but I'd never read it. It's excellent!
I finished The Outsiders last night, which was awesome, and now I've started Haroun and the Sea of Stories, which my brother loaned to me because it's his favourite book ever. It's really captivating so far.
I finished Poe two das ago and now I'm working on a goodreads book that I won and recently received: Scars of the Earth. This one is short and I want to get it finished before the holiday.
I just finished The Last Letter from Your Lover. It was so good I just couldn't put it down. I just started reading Where'd You Go, Bernadette. It is not what I expected but so far I am enjoying it.
Just finished Japanese Fairy Taleswhich was pretty good and is my last 2013 read. I'll be reading The Dead Game by Susanne Leist next as it is my read4review I got to do but may not finish until the beginning of January or so. Wish me luck!
Oh god. Just started The Song of Achilles, which I was NOT supposed to read until I finish the first book in the Earthsea series... but just so happened to be flicking through my to-read list on my Kindle and it's SO GOOD.
Holly wrote: "I'm currently on Book 4 of Paradise Lost, and have just started Alias Grace. For once, I'm actually book juggling!"Alias Grace is fantastic, would be interested to hear what you think of it when you're done!
Rachael wrote: "I'm currently reading The Casual Vacancy."how do you like this? I've heard nothing but poor comments on this one from friends and family.

I read it last year and I loved it. I think Harry Potter fans expect her to write a certain kind of story and they are just disappointed that she didn't do that.
Roseanne wrote: "I just finished The Last Letter from Your Lover. It was so good I just couldn't put it down. I just started reading Where'd You Go, Bernadette. It is not what I expe..."Where'd you go Bernadette was a cute read, definitely not what I expected. The ending is good.
I'm currently reading Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman as part of a buddy read with a GR group (although I'm totally behind). I'm also re-reading Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Both will be finished by the end of the year.
am reading The Dead Game by Susanne Leist and its a pretty good read so far but prob won't get finished with it until after the new year or so. It's a great debut novel by her thus far for a horror story.
I'm now reading Beautiful Creatures which I was sure wouldn't be my cup of tea but decided to try anyways. At this point (about 60% done), I have decided I was right...
I recently completed reading
It was simply beautiful!! Loved it so much and completely awestruck:) Do read it. I'm gonna start with
as soon as I get back home.
I really want to re-read The Book Thief! It's just too good!
I'm half way through Foundation, the first book in Asimov's The Foundation Trilogy. Very interesting so far, although I must admit I enjoy Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game series more. Although, they are remarkably different. Can't wait to get through the next two books in the series. I love combined editions!

Currently readin The One Hundred year Old Man who Climbed out of a Window and Disappeared. About 60% of the way through and determined to finish by New Year's Day!
I've been going through books pretty quickly this holiday due to visiting family (not much to do in those plane/car rides). Finished Beautiful Creatures and am halfway through The Shining now.
Kristen wrote: "I'm finishing 2013 with Slammerkin by Emma Donoghue and Coraline by Neil Gaiman. My first read of 2014 will be The Cuckoo's Calling."The Cuckoo's Calling is a fine read.....though don't expect it to be better than the author's other work - HP:)
Kristen wrote: "I have a feeling I'll feel about Cuckoo the same way I feel about The Casual Vacancy-not Harry Potter, but still quality and style that only J.K. can manage."I sadly wasn't that impressed by Cuckoo....nothing compared to HP, of course, but it wasn't what you expect from JK Rowling...disappointed me.
According to GR I'm currently reading 81 books at the same time - of which I have only tagged 2 as abandoned and 1 as abandoned for now. Interesting.
I'm currently reading The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, by Rachel Joyce. It's an interesting read; I'm really feeling for the main character. It steps away quite a bit from my usual reading habits, but I'm very much enjoying it, despite that!
Finish *what doesn't kill her* this morning. And now in reading *officer jones* 20% through it and loving it so far. Daughter as nicked my kindle to okay a game so I can't read right now lol
I am now reading The Four Seasonsby mary alice Monroe and it is pretty good so far. I read her book the book club last year and decided to try another book of hers. :)
Current reads:The Bhagavad Gita - this version I am reading is very interesting as it takes a linguistic approach to the Gita.
The Casual Vacancy - still too early for me to say anything about this book. Hope it's a good one, though
To Kill a Mockingbird - true classic. One should reread really good books every so often
Some people find it weird that I read 2-3 books at the same time. But surely I'm not the only one out there who does this. :)

Not at all, I do it all the time!

Just finished the Memoirs of a Geisha novel last night. One novel down for the Historical Challenge. Not sure if i'm right.
I always read more than one book at a time. When people tell me it is strange to do that I say it is the same as following more than one tv show from week to week. Most people do that and don't get confused.

YES! That's what I tell people, too.
