What are you currently reading?
How are you finding it, Gavin? I'm currently reading Life after Life by Kate Atkinson and loving every page of it.
Gavin, how are you finding The Casual Vacancy? I've been on the fence on whether to read it for quite a while and would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Easier to get into than I thought, at least from what I've heard about it. It is pretty slow, so I can get why some people couldn't get into it.
I have just managed to burst out of a terrible reading block! Got completely stuck on Vanished Kingdoms: The History of Half-Forgotten Europe, finding it a bit too dense and academic to hold my interest, despite good subject matter. Decided to just put it aside for a while and focus on more fun reads, so am kicking back into action with A Creed for the Third Millennium for this month's Dystopia genre read!
I'm reading The Kings of Cool, which has been on my TBR for a while. It's surprising me so far and looks like it will be a pretty quick read.
I'm reading Earthlingsand its pretty good so far. It's my first read and review ebook request I've gotten with illustrations in it. I can't wait to read more and finish Kingdom Keepers 7 and stuff too.
I'm reading Invisible Monsters by Mr. Chuck Palahniuk. As it happened back when I read Fight Club, the first 50 pages were completely crazy and I couldn't say if I liked it or not. But I fell in love with Fight Club and I'm waiting for that moment when I'll start to understand what the real story is! Hahah :)But I like Palahniuk's style so I'm sure I won't be disappointed.
Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls and Interpreter of Maladiesone is an essay collection and the other a short story collection about immigrants and Indians living in exile.
Elizabeth wrote: "I'm reading Lord of The Flies right now :) don't know if I like it yet"I loved it!
Lord of the Flies is a really amazing book. Sat for hours and didn't move. Finished it in one sitting!
I am finishing up Border Security by Sylvia Longmire, and I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes. Hopefully I will be starting A Blaze of Glory by Jeff Shaara and The Dimension Scales and Other Stories by Garry Abbott by Tuesday.
I've got two on the go at the moment: Love Letters to the Dead (group read) and The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks. I'm enjoying both so far!
Finished Charmed #8:The Legacy of Merlin
Started Man From UNCLE #3: The Copenhagen Affair
I am now 2 books behind, but with 10/20 books read I'm at 50% for the year.
Started Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil today and I'm really enjoying it so far. I love the snobbery!
When my mom read that book, back in the day, she just loved it! An avid reader, It was her number one recommendation for quite a while. :)
Just finished the two sequels to The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure. Had a monster day of reading yesterday!
Now I have to decide what books to take on holiday with me. Decisions, decisions!
Now I have to decide what books to take on holiday with me. Decisions, decisions!
I am reading Great Expectations (for fun), Meeting Faith: The Forest Journals of a Black Buddhist Nun (for the spirit), and Paging God: Religion in the Halls of Medicine (for work). I don't know if I will finish all three before the month is out though.
I am currently reading Elephants on Acid and Other Bizarre Experiments by Alex Boese. I do find it very interesting, although I am for animal rights, so reading about some of the experiments can be a bit horrible for me to digest.
August has not been my reading friend so far. I'm still trying to finish Love Letters to the Dead and am making steady progress on Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Hopefully September will be more accomodating..bad August!
I am almost done with The Infects and The Unfairest of Them All which are both pretty good reads. I started to read unfairest of them all when I was in Orlando and they are both pretty good. will try to finish them both up shortly.
Just finished Stephen King's Doctor Sleep which I gave 3 stars. I'm now reading something completely different. 'Life after Life' by Kate Atkinson set in early 1900's through to the 60's.
Topazriver - Life After Life is on my nightstand, bookmarked to read in the fall. I hope you enjoy it and would love to hear your thoughts on it.
I've just finished Blind Faith by Ben Elton, which I absolutely loved; my current #1 favourite book. I've also finished Dead Famous by Ben Elton, which only really got interesting in the latter half of the 400 pages. Right now, I'm reading The Resurrection Club by Christopher Wallace. I'm only 15 pages in, but I'll report back soon. :)
Currently enjoying Medea, by Euripides. I only really picked it because it's short and I'm still horrendously behind on my challenge!
I'm currently reading The Dead by Charlie Higson. It's part of a series that I wanted to continue since middle of July, ut I had to wait until I got the copies of book 2 - 4. Still waiting for book 5, but until then I want to read the others so I can start it right away. :)
I am currently reading Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm and The Fire Wish and they are both pretty good reads so far as ebooks. I hope to finish them soon before I start the Finisher by David Baldacci I got from Barnes and Noble in September.
I'm reading Paradise Alley by Kevin Baker. I plan to start on Heart-Shaped Box on Thursday, if I can get Paradise Alley finished by then, that is.

I've tried to read this off and on over the years, but can never seem to finish it. Hopefully this time I'll make it."
Ohh, good luck! I love that book. :D
