What an interesting trio of books, Mic..."
Not really. The same depth of character, but less forlorn love. In fact, Winchell Dear reminded me of the sheriff from Longmire. I actually think that Bridges of Madison County is a better book. But so far, I have loved every one of Waller's books that I have read. I look forward to reading the rest.

I don't usually read short story collections because in any anthology there are inevitably one or two weaker works which subtract from the whole. And that was the case here. For the most part the stories supported each other, but there were two which were jarring, and one of those I found to be almost unreadable. I gave the book three stars.

I just started a book, I'm not sure whether it has an English translation, I actually had to add a Czech (my native language) edition. Anyway, it is a travel book about a man who moved out from Germany and got a house on an island in Sweden. So far it's been really sweet and just exploring things in the new country. I'm fond of travelling, so it's really fun to read :).

I finished it yesterday. It's amazing and very emotional.

Farther land
Of mice and men-(with my English class)
The moaning of life
Uglies (listening to it via YouTube)
I just finished Attachments by Rainbow Rowell. It was delightful. A sweet, quirky, feel-good romance. I highly recommend it, but you might want to save it for a day when you need cheering up. :)

Currently Universe in a Single Atom by Dalai Lama.
Have 50 Shades, Monuments Men, Orange is the New Black, Landline...can't even focus to edit the book my friend wants to publish for next week, and that I really hope you all read and review since I'm the editor lol
Have you seen the TV show of Orange is the New Black? I just finished the second series and OH MY GOD.
I saw the film of The Monument Men and I want to read the book too. Let me know what you think of it!

Currently reading The Shadow in the Wind and enjoying it thoroughly. The writing is simply superb and just can't put it down..

LOL Castiel...
And I agree!

I'm just not into it. Plus I'm finding it very hard to pick up Moby Dick, but I know if I start anything else I won't finish it.

I had to smile, Roseanne, when I saw the combo that you're reading. Two books that are seemingly on both ends of the spectrum. :)
That's such a great connection, Sandy. :) Thanks for sharing it. I'm really enjoying the verifying as well. You are right when you say Cather paints pictures with words.

I never thought about it that way. That is a really good idea! There are definitely times when I get bogged down in certain books.

I've tried to read this off and on over the years, but can never seem to finish it. Hopefully this time I'll make it.
