Has anyone else started a TBR list for the year? I have with mostly books that are waiting to be read on my shelf, there's like 23.

I have mine posted in my thread on Personal Challenges, though of course the list is nowhere near complete yet. I find it so nice to have the books listed though! I've never actively planned my reading but having things laid out like this is getting me excited for all the books I'll read next year.

Ohhh, book-shaped presents... my favourite!

Spectactular goals, everyone! Maybe we should count up how many books our members read on the whole throughout the year - I'm sure it would end up in the thousands!
Kim, I've tried to compile a TBR list for 2014, but when I filled all 90 slots to complete my goal and still had dozens of books left over that I want to read just as desperately as those, it started to make me kind of sad, LOL. I never feel like I've read enough!

I'd be really happy to make it to 100 books.
LOL I know the feeling, LuAnn! It's so hard to resist all the challenges thrown about on Goodreads. 100 is a great goal!

My modest goal is 24. Even though I want to read as many books as I can, I enjoy them more when I take my time. When I read quickly, I tend not to get as invested as with a book I've taken more time on.

Awesome goals, everyone! :D
Moira, I'm so pleased that you plan on reading all 3 of our monthly group reads! I'm sure we'll pick some great ones. :)

I'm planning on reading 104 books this year. That really is not much of a challenge. I probably read about 100 books a year anyway. My goal is to keep track of what I read for a year and write some sort of review about each book I read this year.
I'm setting myself a goal to record an review this year also. I never keep track and as I try and move on my paperbacks when I finish I often end up buying books I've already read!!
That's great, Lisa and Rose! I love reviewing what I read, and I've done that for every book I've read over the last few years, though I don't always post them for the public to read. Even if it's just a simple "loved it" or "didn't like it," it comes in handy for me when I'm looking back months or years later.

2 other challenges to myself are:
1. Join some fun reading challenges
2. Create a spreadsheet to keep up with my blog post reviews and to keep up with my reading challenges
I need suggestions on what I will need to include on the one for keeping up with my reading challenges??

For 2014 I'm challenging myself to read 100 books. Many of my reads are audiobooks, which I can enjoy as I knit or quilt or even do housework; but I suspect my life will rearrange itself in the year to come, leaving me with less time for all those things that I now do simultaneously with reading. But I'll be optimistic and hope for at least what my previous goal was.

I'm the same way. When I speed through a book I tend to forget most of what I read only a few months later.
